The team information screen

This section walks you through the team information page, which is where you pick your team, change tactics, check financial data, hire and fire staff and many other things.

The main body of this screen shows a list of players in your team's squad (there is a limit of 26 players in each squad). Above and below the squad list are several rows of buttons which lead to other screens - some more useful than others.

Here is a list of what all the buttons mean starting from the top row:

  • Trns - Transfers
  • Staf - Staff
  • Leag - League progress
  • Accs - Accounts
  • Info - Club information
  • Rsrv - Reserve team
  • Row of numbers - Team selection numbers
  • GLS - Goalscorers
  • DSP - Discipline points
  • AVR - Average ratings
  • MOM - Man-of-the-match awards
  • PEN - Penalty takers
  • PRV - Previous match report
  • TCT - Tactics
  • OPP - Opponent details

The large blue buttons at the bottom of the screen display you players by their position, e.g. "DEFS" displays all defenders.

Squad list[edit]

Transfers[edit]

This page shows a list of all players bought and sold by the club during the current season. It also shows totals of money spent and money received in transfers.

Staff[edit]

The staff page shows mini profiles of all the back-room staff at the club - coach, physiotherapist and scouts. The most important attribute of a staff member is his Ability rating. This ranges from "Fair" to "Superb", with Superb being the best.

Scouts are the people who recommend players to you based on how good they think a player is. The better the scout, the more accurate his opinion will be.

The club physio is the man who treats your injured players and gets them back to full fitness. A better physio will reduce recovery times for your players.

The team coach is probably the most important staff member as he is the one who trains the players and makes them reach their full potential. If you have a superb coach, your players will become better than they would under a "fair" coach.

To replace a member of staff, click on the SACK button in the top-right corner then click on the person you want to sack. You'll be told the he has left the club and it's time to find a replacement. If you click on Board Decision, the club's directors will hire someone they think is suitable. This is the quick option but not always the best. To find a replacement yourself, click on Own Search. You now get to choose the age range, the division you want to look in (or search unemployed staff) and the reputation (ability) you want. When the search results appear, click on your choice of staff to offer him a job. Sometimes they will refuse, depending on how big your club is and whether the already have a job. Just try and get the best you can.

League progress[edit]

This page shows your league positions for each of the current season’s 38 rounds.

Accounts[edit]

The accounts page is an overview of your club’s weekly income and spending, and how much money is available.

If the accounts go below 0 and below the maximum overdraft, the club is rescued by a takeover deal. As part of the takeover deal you as manager will most likely be sacked.

How well you manage your accounts will influence what funds will be available to buy players.

As a manager you can influence money spent on players bought and staff (player) wages and money earned by players sold. Note that when you sell players or if you have extraordinarily high gate receipts, you have to pay up to 40% of it in taxes. But when you buy players it does not have an effect on taxes. To exploit this it is a good tactic to buy players in weeks where you expect to have high gate receipts or expect to sell a player. For example, in the week when the transfer window closes. In this way, you reduce the money spent on taxes.
