Including weapons, there are around 200 different items to be found in Dark Cloud. Fortunately the game groups these for you, simply press square on the relevant item screen.

Explanations[edit]

  • Value is what you can get for the item at shops. Shops charge a 100% markup, so the item will cost twice as much if you buy it.
  • The in-game description of the item is given in quotes after the name
  • For some items two different names are used, one given in the item screen and another when you receive the item. The second name will be given as 'aka.' when this happens.

Navigation[edit]

These items are found in dungeon chests and help you find your way. They work only for the level where they were found and disappear when you leave the dungeon or advance to the next level. Instead of appearing in your item inventory they appear on your screen in the upper right corner.

Map[edit]

This causes any unexplored areas of the dungeon to appear on your screen map. The map will be nearly empty when you enter the level and will gradually be filled in as you explore. With the map the unexplored areas appear as slightly dimmed. Features of interest on the map include your location and direction (pink arrow), level entrance (green dot), level exit (yellow dot), springs (blue), and transport to/from the back level (magenta).

Magical crystal[edit]

This causes the locations of treasure and monster in unexplored area to appear on your map. Normally treasure only appears on your map in areas you've already explored, and monsters only only appear if they are currently visible. Monsters appear as red dots, treasure as yellow dots, and Atla as green dots. It often happens that you get the crystal before the map, in which case you can see where the treasure is located but not how to reach it.
