The Attack Continues is the second mission in the Lord Roberts Island chapter.

Introduction[edit]

With the rebels attacking Lord Roberts Island now possessing heavy military hardware, more patrols are needed in the air, and Downtown will be stepping up to the plate.

The F-22 used in the last mission is down for maintenance, so for this mission, the player is given a T-45 Goshawk armed with the Ground Attack weapon pack in story mode (you can freely choose your plane and weapon pack in Mission mode).

Defend the Western Docks[edit]

When the mission starts, you will be in the air, and a number of enemy speedboats are attacking the island's western docks. Being basic speedboats jury-rigged with guns, they are easy to sink, but are numerous and in tight formation, making them easy targets for bombs. Switch to your B1K as you approach; this is a perfect opportunity to practice using them. Slow down as you approach the enemies, position the circular reticle on top of the boats, and fire.

Note that you can only have two bombs in the air at a time, so bomb the boats from low altitude for maximum efficiency. B1Ks recharge quickly, so don't worry if you miss, and just turn around for another pass. If there are survivors in boat groups after bombing them, clean them up with your SRAMs.

  • Bonus Objective: Destroy the Saboteurs' Landing Craft - A PT Boat also spawns north of the docks. Focus on destroying the main objective's speedboats first to prevent them from destroying the docks, then fly north to sink the PT Boat. This can also be done later in the mission.

Stop the Saboteurs[edit]

Picasso will inform you that there are enemy saboteurs on the island that need to be dealt with; they have already taken out some island installations, and you will need to stop them from doing more damage.

The initial target will be a UAZ-469 jeep on the north end of the island. Fly in, and use an SRAM to take it out.

  • Bonus Objective: Destroy the Saboteurs without damaging any buildings - Self explanatory; aim carefully and avoid hitting any of the buildings on the road that the first jeep is taking. This is also why SRAMs are used instead of bombs. This objective completes when the first jeep is taken out.

A cutscene will play, and then you will be facing another UAZ-469 on the north end of the island that needs to be destroyed. After that, a third jeep will spawn on the southern end of the island. Destroy both with SRAMs, as bombs may cause collateral damage to neutral buildings.

You will also be attacked by Yak-141 Freestyle fighters in this section. Ignore them until the jeeps are dealt with.

Intercept Enemy Bandits[edit]

Once the jeeps are down, focus on taking out the Yak-141s. Shoot them all down to move on.

Defend the Airstrip from Sea Attack[edit]

Multiple PT Boats will attack. Like the speedboats from earlier, the PT Boats are positioned in groups, so use bombs to take them out. These boats are somewhat tougher than the speedboats, and require two bombs to reliably destroy.

Destroy All Enemy Bogeys[edit]

More fighters will spawn as you're dealing with the boats. Once all the PT Boats are dealt with, turn your attention to the fighters. Once most of them are down, the next objective will activate as a Nanuchka moves in.

Destroy the Missile Boat Before it Destroys the Airbase[edit]

The Nanuchka will immediately fire a cruise missile in a cutscene. Pursue the cruise missile and shoot it down. Missiles are best dealt by SRAM while either flying at them head-on or tailing them. Their erratic trajectories make them difficult to shoot down when approached from the side.

The boat will continue to periodically fire cruise missiles at the airstrip while active; engage it with your B1Ks, as SRAMs do much less damage. The Nanuchka will remain stationary so accuracy is not a concern.

  • Bonus Objective: Prevent any cruise missiles from hitting the air strip - The airstrip can take about four cruise missiles before the main objective fails, so you can ignore a cruise missile or two and still complete the mission. However, to complete the bonus objective, every cruise missile must be intercepted and destroyed.

Once the Nanuchka is dealt with, clean up all remaining fighters to finish the mission.
