Zero gains an EX Skill from a boss if his rank is at least A when he defeats it. Keep in mind, it's his rank upon beginning the mission that counts, not the rank he gets at the end of the mission (which counts for the next boss). These can be equipped and unequipped from the subscreen.

ReflectLaser[edit]

When no Element chip is equipped, Zero's charged buster shot becomes a laser that reflects off walls, much like the Gemini Laser from Mega Man 3.
V-Shot[edit]

When the Thunder Body Chip is equipped, Zero's buster fires two shots at a time, one diagonally up and forward, one diagonally down and forward, even when uncharged.
BurstShot[edit]

When the Flame Body Chip is equipped, Zero's charged buster shot explodes and does more damage upon contact with an enemy.

+ Saber on the ground. Zero performs a rising uppercut with the Saber. If the Flame Body Chip is equipped, the attack becomes a Flame element and goes higher, burning anything it strikes.

Press + Saber on the ground. Zero slashes sideways and fires an energy wave that travels a short distance forward. If the Ice Body Chip is equipped, the attack becomes an Ice element and goes farther, freezing what it strikes.

Repeatedly tap the Recoil Rod button, and Zero will start performing a very quick series of thrusts with it.
SoulLauncher[edit]
- Obtained from: Cubit Foxtar
- Element: Flame
Hold while using a charged Recoil Rod attack, and Zero tosses four energy balls up into the air, which then fall back down around him. With the Flame Chip, the energy balls become fireballs that land on the ground and burn for a few seconds.
Shield Skills[edit]
ShieldSweep[edit]

- Element: Thunder
When thrown, the Shield Boomerang rolls along the ground and then flies back to Zero instead of flying through the air. With the Thunder Chip, it leaves a trail of electric sparks behind as it rolls.
OrbitShield[edit]
- Obtained from: Glacier Le Cactank
- Element: Ice
Hold while throwing the Shield Boomerang, and it flies in small circles around Zero. Normally, it makes four revolutions, but with the Ice Chip equipped, it goes around six times before stopping.
