Room 1[edit | edit source]

Welcome to the game. This room only features Green Clubbers, who attack by entering it from all four sides, running towards the contestants and trying to club them with their baseball bats; once you have killed them all, a screen with the map shown below on it will come into view from the left side of the screen (the glowing X to the left is this room, while the dollar sign in the top-right is a bonus room, and Mutoid Man's head to the right is the boss room). The only available exit is to the right.

Room 2: "COLLECT POWERUPS!"[edit | edit source]

Once the contestants have proceeded to this room, a screen with the host (who will say "Bingo!", whenever you collect a powerup that immediately kills all enemies currently in the room) and his two female assistants on it shall come into view from the left side of the screen as he says "Good luck...You'll need it!" (from the HC-55516); this room features Green Clubbers and Red Bombers (the latter of which attack by entering the room from all four sides, walking around its edge and, if the contestants do not hit them enough times to kill them, exploding into five pieces of shrapnel which must be avoided). There are also three land mines on the floor, which will blow the contestants (but not the enemies!) up if they walk onto them - but once you have killed all the Green Clubbers (and any Red Bombers who did not have enough time to explode!), you have a choice of two possible third rooms (up or down).

Room 3A: "COLLECT KEYS!"[edit | edit source]

If you choose the upper path, the contestants will proceed to this room, which features Green Clubbers, Red Bombers and a Gunner; despite its name, you are only required to "collect keys" in Revision 8.00 to enter the added "Pleasure Dome". There are also five land mines on the floor - and once you have killed all the Green Clubbers and any Red Bombers who did not have enough time to explode (the Gunner shall automatically explode if he is still alive when all the other enemies are dead), you and your fellow contestant will have no choice but to proceed to Room 4A ("MEET MR. SHRAPNEL").

Room 3B: "EAT MY SHRAPNEL"[edit | edit source]

However, if you chose the lower path, the contestants will proceed down to this room instead, which features Green Clubbers, Red Bombers, and both colours of Atoms; there are also two land mines on the floor. Once you've killed all the Green Clubbers and Atoms (and any Red Bombers who did not have enough time to explode!), you will have no choice to proceed to Room 4B ("TOTAL CARNAGE", which lent its name to a Midway game in 1992).

Room 4A: "MEET MR. SHRAPNEL"[edit | edit source]

This room features Green Clubbers, Red Bombers and two Gunners; there are also two land mines on the floor, but once you have killed all the Green Clubbers and any Red Bombers who did not have enough time to explode (the Gunners shall again automatically explode if they are still alive when all the other enemies are dead), you and your fellow contestant will, for the second time, have no choice but to proceed to Room 5A ("BONUS PRIZES!").

Room 4B: "TOTAL CARNAGE"[edit | edit source]

This room features Green Clubbers, both colours of Bombers, and both colours of Atoms; there are also three land mines on the floor. Once you have killed all the Green Clubbers and Atoms (and any Bombers who didn't have enough time to explode!), you will have no choice to proceed to Room 5B ("CROWD CONTROL", which, unlike Room 5A, isn't a bonus room, so if you are playing for points, it is better to choose the upper path after Room 2).

Room 5A: "BONUS PRIZES!"[edit | edit source]

Once the contestants have proceeded to this room, a screen with the host and his two female assistants on it shall come into view from the left side of the screen as he says "Big money...Big prizes...I love it!" from the HC-55516; the room will then be filled with prizes, which the contestants will have to collect as many of as they can before they disappear. The room's featured enemies (Green & Magenta Clubbers, Red Bombers and Tanks) shall then start entering it from all four sides - and the Magenta Clubbers behave identically to the Green ones but move faster, while the Tanks attack by driving around the room firing projectiles at the contestants and trying to run them over (but they can also kill other enemies by running them over). There are also five land mines on the floor - but once you've killed all the Clubbers, Tanks and any Red Bombers who did not have enough time to explode, you will, for the third time, have no choice but to proceed to Room 6 ("TANK TROUBLE", which happens to be the last regular room before the boss one).

Room 5B: "CROWD CONTROL"[edit | edit source]

This room features both colours of Clubbers, Blue Bombers, both colours of Atoms, Tanks and two Gunners; there's also five land mines on the floor. Once you have killed all the Clubbers and Atoms in it and any Blue Bombers who did not have enough time to explode (the Gunners will, once again, automatically explode if they are still alive when all other enemies have been killed), you shall, once again, have no choice but to proceed to Room 6.

Room 6: "TANK TROUBLE"[edit | edit source]

This room features both colours of Clubbers, Blue Bombers, Tanks and two Gunners; there are also four land mines on the floor. Once you have killed all the Clubbers and Tanks and any Blue Bombers who did not have enough time to explode (the Gunners will, yet again, automatically explode if they are still alive when all other enemies have been killed), you will yet again have no choice but to proceed to Room 7 ("MUTOID MAN!", the boss room).

Room 7: "MUTOID MAN!"[edit | edit source]

Once the contestants have proceeded to this room, a screen with the host and his two female assistants on it shall come into view from the left side of the screen, as he says "Total carnage...I love it!" from the HC-55516; this room initially features both colours of Atoms, and once you've killed them all, Mutoid Man, who has two Gunners on his treads, shall enter it through the enormous hole in the top wall. Once you have fired enough normal shots at both of the Gunners to kill them, you shall have to collect the powerups that are randomly appearing on the floor to attack Mutoid Man himself (as he's invulnerable to normal shots) - and he will attack by rolling around the room, while firing laser beams at the contestants from his eyes and trying to run them over. Once you have fired enough shots at him from one side, one of his arms will explode; you will then have to start firing at him from the other side, and once you have fired enough shots at him from that side his other arm will explode. You will then have to start firing at him from the front, and once you've fired enough shots at him from that side, his chest, head, ribcage and treads will explode in turn - and both contestants will then receive a "Toaster Bonus" of 2000 points for every toaster collected, an "Automobile Bonus" of 2500 for every roadster collected, a "Super VCR Bonus" of 2500 points for every VCR collected (same as the "Automobile" one) and a "Cash Bonus" of 900 points for every dollar bill, silver bar and gold bar collected.
