# Select a color (click on the top color block if you want to change the current selection)
# Select Paintbrush tool
# Under Brushes, choose one of the larger circles (15 or 17)
# Wherever you want to label a point, just single click the point on the map with the paintbrush.  You don't need to drag the mouse, just one point will do.
# Switch to text tool (the big T)
# Choose the right font and point size.  I was using Slant Ultra-Light and a point size of 18 I think.
# Change your color to an alternate color, such as white (you can set it to the background color and switch between the foreground and background color so that you don't have to keep selecting the colors you want.)
# With the text tool cursor, click somewhere over the point that you made with the paintbrush.  It doesn't have to be perfect, you can move it later.
# Type the letter or symbol you want to add.
# Click the move tool (the four-way arrow, or just press M)
# Adjust the position of the letter so that it is nicely centered in the paintbrush dot.
# Go back to the original layer (you need use the layer tool, press Ctrl-L if you can't see it) and repeat these steps for every letter you need to add.
