==Onward to the Holy Pillar==
==Onward to the Holy Pillar==
A Holy Pillar has emerged somewhere in the world, but it's not yet time to enter! There is one more thing you should do before restoring the world.
The Holy Pillar has appeared, but there is one last thing you must do before you go.
{{spoiler|title=Anchorite of War|There is one last summon you need to collect for the Summoner job: the non-elemental Susano-o. The anchorite can be found on the featureless archipelago north of Florem. It's the same routine here: survive a single attack by Susano-o to obtain him. You have no way of nullifying Susano-o's attacks, and he is much stronger than previous elemental summons. Only sheer defense will let you succeed. As for the summon itself, Susano-o is more costly than the other summons, but also more powerful as well when your enemy lacks a weakness.}}
{{spoiler|title=Anchorite of War|Take the Grandship to the nameless archipelago north of Florem, specifically, the island shaped like a crescent. Travel to the western tip to find the Anchorite of War. It's the same routine with this wizard: survive his attack and he will grant you a new summon. He will use Susano-o, which lacks an element and possesses more power than other summons, so you must rely on sheer defense to live. As a summon of your own, Susano-o costs more MP, but is stronger against foes with no elemental weaknesses.

Once you've completed all there is to do now, it is time to head into the Holy Pillar. Airy will ask you one last time whether you're ready. Once you choose to proceed, there's no turning back!
After you've done everything that is presently available now, head to the Holy Pillar and choose to go inside. Airy will ask you one last time before you really head in; it's a point of no return once you've confirmed to proceed!

===Boss: Alternis Dim===
===Boss: Alternis Dim===
Airy's brooch begins to glow as it absorbs the First Light within the pillar, and she warns that the Grandship must be kept inside the Holy Pillar for the ritual to succeed. Just then, the ship is rocked by something outside. Upon investigation, you find that the last member of the Council of Six, Ringabel, is here to stop you. You had better defeat him quickly to stabilize the ship!
The First Light of the Holy Pillar charges up Airy's brooch, so she wants everyone to keep the ship stable while she gathers the light. Suddenly, the ship is rocked and Datz's cry can be heard outside. Upon investigation, you'll find that Alternis Dim has come to make a last ditch effort to stop you. The ship needs to be stabilized quickly, but Alternis will not let anyone go without a fight.

Alternis Dim is a master at the Dark Arts, which grant him some brutally strong Dark-elemental attacks. Outside of his powerful physical strikes, he has Dark Bane to strike one of your party members, and Black Bane to strike your whole party. However, his most threatening attack is undoubtedly Minus Strike, which deals fixed damage equal to the health he has lost. Alternis will spam this move relentlessly during the latter stages of the battle, so expect frequent KOs.
As a Dark Knight, Alternis possesses some brutal attacks. Other than his powerful physical strikes, he has two moves: the single-target Dark Bane and the whole party hitting Black Bane. However, his most threatening attack is undoubtedly his Minus Strike, which deals fixed damage equal to the health he has lost. Alternis is especially fond of spamming this move during the latter half of the battle, so expect frequent one-hit KOs.

This fight is a little like Qada's due to Minus Strike, except with less gimmicks and more overwhelming power. Dark Bane and Black Bane are pretty manageable; they are no different from other boss's spell combinations outside of strength, and they can be blocked entirely with the Dark Shield, which you obtained back in Everlast Tower. On the other hand, Minus Strike is a major headache. You absolutely need to keep your healer alive and ready to revive on every turn, so it's a good idea to equip them with the Dark Shield for survival. Salve-Makers are especially useful here since Giant's Draft will revive anyone to full health, and they can use Font of Life to add a Reraise effect, insuring your party members against KOs.
Due to Minus Strike, this battle is similar to Qada's with less gimmick and more overwhelming strength. Dark Bane and Black Bane is manageable; they are just your standard boss's spell combination and can be negated with sufficient healing and armor. The Dark Shield in particular will completely block these moves, and you've just obtained it in Everlast Tower. However, you must be able to deal with Minus Strike if you hope to win. It will instantly KO any party member by the time Alternis starts spamming it, so you need to have a healer alive and ready to revive on every turn. Consider equipping them with the Dark Shield to ensure their survival. Salve-Makers are especially useful here, as they can use Giant's Draft to revive a teammate to full health, or Font of Life to instantly revive a party member if they got struck in the future.

Soundly defeated, Alternis Dim stumbles and breaks his mask, revealing the familiar face of Ringabel beneath it. As he struggles to leave, he falls off the Grandship into the ocean below. Alternis also left behind a journal that is startlingly similar to D's Journal. Just what is the relation between Ringabel and Alternis Dim?
After winning the battle, you'll get the [[../Dark Knight|Dark Knight]] asterisk! Dark Knights are powerful physical attackers with damaging skills drawing from their HP. They are among the strongest damage dealers in the game, but also the most risky without the right job combination.

Before anyone can ponder such questions further, the party hurries back to stabilize the Grandship, only to find that it's out of control. Airy is too focused to respond, and the Grandship is drawn into the Holy Pillar by a mysterious force, enveloping everyone with a blinding light...

Before anyone can ponder these questions further, Ringabel hurries back to stabilize the ship, only to find that it has lost control, being dragged into the pillar by a mysterious force.
