Super Sprint track selection screen.png

Once you have inserted your coin into one of the three slots of the cabinet of Atari Games's 1986 racing arcade game, Super Sprint, the text of "PRESS START" shall appear in blue, red, or yellow at the top-left, top-centre, or top-right of the screen; once you have pressed the appropriate Start Button, the game will proceed to the track selection screen shown above as its introductory theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151. You will then have ten seconds to choose a track, by turning the steering wheel, then stepping on the pedal to confirm your choice - and you will receive one bonus wrench for starting on a "medium" track, two for starting on a "hard" track and three for starting on a "very hard" track. Once you have collected in five wrenches, you will be able to choose an item for your car, before the next race; turn the steering wheel to select one, then step on the pedal to confirm your choice.

Track 1 (Easy)[edit]

Super Sprint track 1.png

Welcome to the game. Once all cars' revving noise starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have picked, and turn to the left, then turn to the right twice in succession, then turn to the left twice in succession to complete a full lap of the track; you must complete four laps of it and come in first in order to continue. 1P's score is displayed at the top-left of the screen, 2P's at the top-centre and 3P's at the top-right - but if there are less than three players, it shall display the text "DRONE" instead of "BLUE/RED/YELLOW CAR" like the always-CPU-controlled green car's "score", at the bottom of the screen. This track's number is also displayed in the bottom-left corner, and if you crash into a wall with enough force, your car will explode; a helicopter will then fly into view from one of the four sides of the screen, to resurrect it. Once one car has completed three laps of this track, a white flag will be flown from the lookout tower at the starting line - and, once one player has completed a fourth lap of the track, the track's ending theme will begin to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, as the screen fades to a shot of the "Winners' Circle", which shows the cars that came in first, second, and third on a podium (the one that came in fourth will be wrecked, and if it was player-controlled, its driver will be trying to repair it). If a player car came in first, it will get to continue racing; however, if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin will have to be inserted, if they want to continue racing.

Track 3 (Medium)[edit]

Super Sprint track 3.png

Even though all the tracks are numbered, the game will not progress through them in order; once the cars' revving noise starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have picked, and turn to the left (if the "gate" is open, you may take a shortcut), then turn to the right, then turn to the left (and follow the arrows), and turn to the left twice in succession to complete a full lap of the track. Once one car has completed three laps of this track, a white flag shall be flown from that lookout tower at the starting line - and, once one player has completed a fourth lap of the track, the track's ending theme will begin to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, as the screen fades to a shot of the "Winners' Circle", which shows the cars that came in first, second, and third on a podium (the one that came in fourth will be wrecked, and if it had been player-controlled its driver will be trying to repair it). If a player car came in first, it will get to continue racing; however, if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin will have to be inserted.

Track 7 (Very Hard)[edit]

Super Sprint track 7.png

Once the cars' revving noise starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have chosen then turn to the left, then turn to the right twice in succession, then turn to the left again, then turn to the right again, and turn to the left again to complete a full lap of the track; once one car completes three laps of this track, a white flag shall get flown from that lookout tower, at the starting line. Once one player has completed a fourth lap of this track, this track's ending theme shall begin to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, as the screen fades to a shot of the "Winners' Circle", which shows the cars that came in first, second, and third on a podium (the one that came in fourth will be wrecked, and if it had been player-controlled its driver will be trying to repair it) - and if a player car came in first, it will get to continue racing, but if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin will have to be inserted if they want to continue racing. Because the next track shall see your cars going under some sections of track, they shall disappear.

Track 6 (Hard)[edit]

Once the cars' revving noise starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have picked and now turn to the left, then turn to the right, then turn to the left again, then turn to the right again (your view of all four cars shall be obscured at this point), then turn to the right once again, then turn to the left once again, then turn to the right yet again, then turn to the left twice in succession and turn to the right to complete a full lap of the track; once one car completes three laps of this track, a white flag shall get flown from that lookout tower, at the starting line. Once one player has completed a fourth lap of this track, the track's ending theme shall begin to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, as the screen fades to a shot of that "Winners' Circle", which shows the cars that came in first, second and third upon a podium (the one that came in fourth shall be wrecked, and if it had been player-controlled, its driver shall be trying to repair it) - and if a player car came in first, it will get to continue racing, but if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin shall have to be inserted if they want to continue racing. The next track also has a break in it, which your car must fly over to clear.

Track 2 (Easy)[edit]

Super Sprint track 2.png

Once the cars' revving noise starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have picked and turn to the left twice in succession, then follow the arrow (flying over the break in the track, but if you miss the other side your car shall explode), turn to the left four more times in succession, and turn to the right to complete a full lap of the track; once one car completes three laps of the track, a white flag will be flown from the lookout tower at the starting line. Once one player has completed a fourth lap of the track, the track's ending theme will start to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, as the screen fades to a shot of the "Winners' Circle", that shows the cars that came in first, second, and third on a podium (the one that came in fourth will be wrecked, and if it had been player-controlled, its driver shall be trying to repair it) - and if a player car came in first, it shall get to continue racing, but if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin must be inserted (if they want to continue racing). The next track also has more "gates".

Track 5 (Hard)[edit]

Super Sprint track 5.png

Once the cars' revving noise starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have chosen and turn to the left (if the first "gate" is open you may take a shortcut), then turn to the right (and if the second "gate" is open, you may take another shortcut), then turn to the left again (if the third "gate" is open, you may take a third shortcut), then turn to the right again, then turn to the left twice in succession, to complete a full lap of the track; once one car completes three laps of the track, a white flag shall be flown from the lookout tower at the starting line. Once one player has completed a fourth lap of the track, the track's ending theme will start to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, as the screen fades to a shot of the "Winners' Circle", that shows the cars that came in first, second and third on a podium (the one that came in fourth will be wrecked, and if it had been player-controlled, its driver shall be trying to repair it) - and if a player car came in first, it will get to continue racing, but if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin must be inserted if they want to continue racing. The next track will again see your cars going under some sections of track and disappearing from view.

Track 8 (Very Hard)[edit]

Super Sprint track 8.png

Once the cars' revving noise starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have chosen, and turn to the right, then turn to the left, then turn to the right twice more in succession, then turn to the left twice more in succession, then turn to the right (your sights of all four cars shall get obscured at this point, and if the "gate" is open, you can take a shortcut) yet again, then turn to the left twice more in succession, then turn to the right for a fifth time (earlier if you want to take that diagonal path), to complete a full lap of the track; once one car has completed three laps of this track, a white flag will be flown from the lookout tower at the starting line. Once one player has completed a fourth lap of this track, the track's ending theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 as the screen fades to a shot of the "Winners' Circle" which shows the cars that came in first, second and third on a podium (the one that came in fourth will be wrecked, and if it had been player-controlled, its driver shall be trying to repair it) - and if a player car came in first, it will get to continue racing, but if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin must be inserted, if they want to continue racing.

Track 4 (Medium)[edit]

Super Sprint track 4.png

Once the cars' revving noise starts to be heard from that Yamaha YM-2151, step on the pedal to accelerate the one you have chosen, then turn to the left, four times in succession (following the arrows), then turn to the left four more times in succession (your view of all four cars shall be obscured at this point), then turn to the left for a ninth time to complete a full lap of the track; once one car has completed three laps of this track, a white flag shall be flown from the lookout tower up at the starting line. Once one player has completed a fourth lap of the track, the track's ending theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 as the screen fades to a shot of the "Winners' Circle" which shows the cars that came in first, second and third on a podium (the one that came in fourth will be wrecked, and if it had been player-controlled, its driver shall be trying to repair it) - and, if a player car had come in first, it will get to continue racing, but if one came in second, third, or fourth, another coin must be inserted, if they want to continue racing. The cycle of tracks will then begin again; once one player comes in second, third or fourth and has a score of over 7100 points, he will have the option of inserting another coin to continue and entering his initials upon the game's high-score table. If he chooses to do the latter (by using the steering wheel to select the letters and stepping on the pedal to confirm them) his game shall immediately be over - but the remaining players can continue until they choose to do the same.
