World 9 lockout[edit]

You claim that Super Mario All*Stars locks you out of world 9 is you "Save & Quit" or reset. That is not true (at least that's never happened to me). In fact, the Nintendo Power magazine that came out when Super Mario All*Stars was released in the US tells you to reset if you accidentally end up near a warp zone. The only thing that locks you out of world 9 is using a warp zone. [this is based on actually trying the US and Japanese versions of Super Mario All*Stars/Super Mario Collection]. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vern4760 (talkcontribs) .

removed the following because of the aforementioned inaccuraccy:

  1. Save the Toads: There are Toads in every one of the first seven worlds. In order to qualify for admittance into World 9, you must first save the Toads in each of those worlds, then move on to World 8 and save the Princess. If you warp past any of the dungeons, you'll go straight from World 8-4 to World A-1.
  2. Don't stop: The second condition that you must conform to in order to in order to reach World 9 is to play through the first eight worlds without quitting. In Super Mario All-Stars, If you choose the "Save & Quit" option or reset the game at any point, you'll be locked out of the world. You can, however, choose "Save & Continue" as many times as you wish.

replaced with: Don't use warp zones: In order to qualify for admittance into World 9, you can't use any warp zones. The use of any warp zones (even the ones that send you to a previous world) will lock out world 9. In Super Mario All*Stars, even if you've completed the game and played through world 9, if you go into any world, use a warp zone, and save, world 9 will disappear from your saved game.Vern4760 10:55, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
