Redirect?[edit]

Redirect cost almost no space, and they should exist to make things useful for someone looking for a guide. For example, SSBM should exist and redirect to Super Smash Brothers Melee because people won't type that into the search when they press go, they'll type "SSBM", and will expect to go directly to the page they want, that's why redirects were made, so that people can find the page they want even if they type something different then the title in the search box, or even if they misspell it. I don't think redirects should be deleted in almost any case because they are extremly useful, you should probably have several redirects for every guide, to make sure someone looking for it can easily find it, that's what I think at least :). -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:22, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

To prove my point, the actual page is Super Smash Bros. Melee and that took me a little while to find using the search? So to prevent others from having to look for a guide that should be extremly easy to find, I'm going to create SSBM as well as Super Smash Brothers Melee and redirect them to the correct page. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:25, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
I presume you're referring to the usage case of "pointless redirect"? In which case, I think I should make it a little clearer: I mean redirects from things like Runescape/Blah/waffle/DamnedRpG to RuneScape/Foobar/DamnedRPG. Redirects which will never in a thousand years be useful. :-) --DrBob (Talk) 08:31, 18 June 2006 (PDT)
That's what I was referring to, and I'm glad you clarified it, since it seemed to cover my example as well as the one you just gave, now it's better. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:41, 18 June 2006 (PDT)

Inline text[edit]

So that we can have something like {{delete|Some reason}} -- Prod 19:41, 26 September 2006 (CDT)

Ha, how amusing, I added the ability to do without "reason=" before seeing this comment. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 01:23, 28 September 2006 (CDT)
I actually added "reason=" (the entire parameter) in response to Prod's comment, but neglected to feed back to here about it. :-P --DrBob (Talk) 11:12, 28 September 2006 (CDT)
It's all good, it makes it easier for everyone this way. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 23:44, 28 September 2006 (CDT)
