The Juggler[edit]

This is a cryptogram puzzle, with the clue that GZMD KQZEWC = MANY DEATHS. With this clue, you can confirm that the single letter word is an "I".

The puzzle should be obvious to decode from here. The message is "I am afraid that I am not the messenger you expect but I was told to warn you that two ships approach from the south."

The Farmer[edit]

This is a pentomino puzzle, which contains two rows of text. While placing the taller pieces first isn't too effective, it can still give a good idea on how the text will flow.

The text reads "I am ehre at the Queen's request", as shown in The Knight of Pentacles.

The Knight of Pentacles[edit]

No puzzle here, only a metapuzzle clue.

The Blacksmith[edit]

This is an anagram puzzle, where you have to solve two five-letter words in each set. There is also a clue to the words at the bottom of the screen.

The words are:

  • Sorry and Merry
  • Brown and Crown
  • Quick and Quill
  • Bliss and Amiss
  • Scowl and Growl
  • North and Worth
  • Ghost and Ghoul
  • Throb and Three
  • Chill and Still

Proceed to The Cathedral

The Cathedral[edit]

TFE The Cathedral.png

This is a jigsaw puzzle.

Focus on the letters first. Next, move the darkened floor tiles to the bottom, even if you aren't finishing them now. Complete the framing attached to the letters, then finish the pillars. Other pieces should fall into position, to show the scene from The Chapel.

The Chapel[edit]

This puzzle has letters all over the place - one for each letter of the alphabet. If you look carefully, you will notice three are missing.

While you can't tell which order to put the three letters, it is not too difficult to try all six combinations. When you are done, FIE will be shown in The Humbug.

The Humbug[edit]

Some dexterity required. Slower computers will also help.

The object of this puzzle is to guide the card from the lower-left corner to the end of the track. On some systems, the cards will turn red as you progress, making it easier to catch it if you slip and make a mistake. Some platforms are easier, providing only lines rather than a twisty path.

Once you complete this puzzle, you will be presented with the second key to the Book of Thoth. In the field of rapidly painted rectangles, there should be a red (or shaded) rectangle that will remain constant. Click on it to reveal the next rectangle.

The Merchant[edit]

The Maze of Hedges[edit]

TFE The Maze of Hedges.png

You must escape The Maze of Hedges by using the mouse to move the white dot to the exit in the right wall. The maze starts as only partially explored, with hidden walls and wind traps that appear when you move into them. The winds teleport you to a random location in the maze, but never near the exit - the closest you can get is the area left of the top-center zig-zag part, which still skips most of the maze.

The Maze of Thornes[edit]

No puzzle here, only a metapuzzle clue.

The Queen of Pentacles[edit]

This is a 3x3 word puzzle, and the middle letter is an "O".

Try forming words with the "A" first. Eventurally, you should receive the words Arm, Too, and Ebb, or Ate, Rob and Mob. This leads to The Pentacle.

The Pentacle[edit]

This pentomino puzzle has black and white pieces. The white pieces appear on the left, and the black on the right. There is also three rows of text, reading "The Four Sages".

Even though four pieces are interchangeable without affecting the message, they must be on the correct side for the puzzle to be flagged as complete. This will provide access to the Page of Pentacles.

The Page of Pentacles[edit]

The page only describes a metapuzzle clue.
