Seating consists of sofas, couches, loveseats and different types of chairs.
- Living chairs are primarily for improving comfort. They can be placed at desks, dining tables and used for chess. They will be used when reading books. All living chairs offer the 'Sit' interaction.
- Dining chairs are used when placed next to dining tables, desks and chess tables, this also applies to Office chairs. They all offer the 'Sit' interaction.
- Sofas, couches, and loveseats will fulfill three needs. Each of these objects can offer up to five interactions once the Sim sits down, which are:
- Power Nap (this gives comfort and energy, but only to a certain point, if there's a TV nearby that's currently turned on, their fun will also increase while napping)
- Play Game (this increases fun)
- Call Over... (this lets the Sim invite someone to join them on the couch)
- TV... (if there's a TV nearby, the interaction 'TV...' will be available, which then 'Watch' can be selected)
- Search Couch (the Sim can find simoleons, an old half sub sandwich or a Zombie Monkey Paw, which is exclusive to the console versions) The Zombie Monkey Paw will max out a random need of the Sim.
If two Sims are sitting on the same sofa or loveseat, the interaction to 'Chat' with them will appear. Otherwise, they will autonomously chat with each other. Sofas can seat three Sims and loveseats limit to two Sims, this includes Pets.
