Non-glyph[edit]

In some cases, you can paint directly on a target without using a glyph. This may be done to:

  • Interact with a sister, tree, or trap.
  • As an attack (although inefficient)

Donor[edit]

This glyph is the first glyph you encounter, and is used throughout the game. It can be used for the following:

  • When used when interacting with a sister (with the appropriate color), it increases her openness towards you. When you fill the first of her hearts, she permits access to her chambers. On the second heart, she allows you to visit the other sister's chambers. At the beginning, it's dangerous to fill a third heart.
  • If used when interacting with a tree, it improves the harvest as long as the tree is still blooming. Missing the donor glyph gives a message, and greatly reduces the effect of the harvest.
  • If used on the open, it drops a ball of color that attracts fireflies (which may then be collected.)

To interact with a sister or tree, you first have to use a drop of color on it. The camera will move to the correct position, where you may then use the donor glyph.

When possible, fill your hearts with at least 100 units of gold or violet to ensure maximum effectiveness.

This glyph is generally hard to draw at first. If you receive a message saying you didn't draw it correctly, try reviewing the video to see the exact drawing procedure.

Shell[edit]

This glyph creates a shield that blocks incoming attacks, causing them to inflict no damage. However, you can't draw any glyphs when it is active.

It is located within the unnamed sister's mine.

Speed[edit]

This glyph allows you to travel more quickly, well beyond the speed provided by having 100 azure in your heart. It is usually used if you need to catch up or evade an enemy.

Torch[edit]

The Torch glyph

This glyph is obtained from the unnamed sister, at the beginning of Commandments (if you filled at least two hearts). When used, it creates light for a period of time.

If you already know the layout of the map, or can already see dark objects on your display, this glyph is not generally useful. However, you are required to take it, and it still allows you to carry additional color in your hearts.

Expose[edit]

This glyph is given by Mantis. It is the first of the two hearts used to retreive color from mine. To use it, look towards a glowing patch on a wall, and draw the expose glpyh. The surface will break open, revealing the color vein.

Extract[edit]

The Extract glyph

This glyph fires a harpoon that allows you to collect color from an exposed mine. It is provided by Uta when you speak with her about the first trial.
