Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello FrozenTorterra! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or ask a sysop, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Prod (talk) 00:05, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Pre-load buttons[edit]

The pre-load buttons.

In order to keep pages on the wiki neat and uniform, we employ certain formatting and templates to help us accomplish this. When creating a new page, please use one of the pre-load buttons located above the edit text box (e.g. click on "Guide page" to add {{Header Nav}} to the top and {{Footer Nav}} to the bottom), which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. These templates are very handy because they include the templates that are required for each page type. If you are unsure about how to use them, or what pages to use them on, please let me know. Thanks for keeping the wiki organized! — Procyon 00:44, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Please, please, please pay attention to this message. Prod and I have been coming along behind you and adding all the missing navigation templates that should be on the page. Thank you very much. Procyon 00:44, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
Reminder: You just created Pokémon Black and White 2/Driftveil Gym without clicking on the "Guide page" button. So now the {{Header Nav}} and {{Footer Nav}} are missing and have to be added manually. Please click the "Guide page" button before you begin editing a page. It's the only thing we ask. Thanks. Procyon 02:32, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

First headers[edit]

Hi there. Great job on the Pokemon guide, thanks very much for your hard work. I just wanted to mention one thing. It's not a rule, it's just sort of a style thing: we generally don't include the name of the page as a header on that page. It's like having a walkthrough page, and starting the page off with == Walkthrough ==, which is kind of pointless and redundant. Either you can come with with a specific name for that section of the walkthrough, or don't include the header at all, they're not required. Thanks again. Procyon 18:50, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Procyon. I thank you for the acknowledgement on my work. I want to take this time to address a couple things. First off, I apologize for not seeing the Header and Footer post until way later. I was working on numerous things at once, and didn't notice until after I had written on Driftveil's Gym. I also want to apologize for having you and Prod following after me putting those in. It was irresponsible of me, and I am truly sorry.
I would have replied to that sooner, but I was unsure how to do so, so I put it on the back burner for a little while until I could find something out. Incidentally, I will take into account what you said about the headers with regards to redundancy. I thank you for the advice. I hope you have a good day. --FrozenTorterra (talk) 13:12, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
Hi FrozenTorterra. There's no need to apologize, it's totally cool. I know that we have a couple of regulations on this site that are especially unclear to new users, and I'm sorry about that. And yeah, replying on your talk page is the best way to reach us. At least one admin or another will eventually see it. Just a note: to help make a clear who's "talking" in a conversation, a convention we usually use is to put an increasing number of colons before our text, which indents the paragraph. I added one colon each to your paragraphs above, and I started this paragraph off with two colons. It just helps visually. Keep up the great work. Procyon 15:03, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
Thank you very much. I very much appreciate it. --FrozenTorterra (talk) 15:14, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
