Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Praxi! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 03:41, 20 April 2008 (CDT)

Additionally, do not add links that are unnecessary, such data should be present on SW. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 03:41, 20 April 2008 (CDT)

Adding links to information is great, however for guide information, it's best to write it up here (just be careful not to copy other peoples work) so that people can collaborate on the content to make the best guide possible. If you have some strategies to share, do feel free to contribute any information you can :). -- Prod (Talk) 12:59, 20 April 2008 (CDT)
In his defense, he came onto IRC and we had the following discussion:

<Praxi> anyone awake?
<Skizzerz> yep
<Praxi> So I've never edited a page or anything on any wiki before, I read the TOS type stuff posted on StrategyWiki, and couldn't find anywhere where it said not to post an external link in someone elses wiki that points to something they obviously have a deficiency in for their guide. Is that considered rude or something?
<Praxi> I registered just for that, because I really liked the idea of SW :)
<Praxi> and thought it would be nice if people could get all the info they needed in 1 spot
<Skizzerz> if it's guide-type material and the offsite content is under a free licence (like GFDL), we'd much prefer if you copied and rewrote in your own words the info being presented (giving attribution where attribution is due)
<Praxi> http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63611 ahhh hmmm it was just a post on some forums that included screenshots :)
<Skizzerz> oh, in that case just save the screenshots to your computer, and upload them via [[Special:Upload]]
<Skizzerz> (or, actually [[Special:MulipleUpload]] -- gets the job done faster)
<Praxi> thats not plagerising(sp)?
<Skizzerz> no, screenshots are the property of the producers of the game, no matter who takes them
<Skizzerz> and we have a blanked fair-use clause for that :)
<Praxi> ahh
<Skizzerz> what you are NOT allowed to do, however, is copy the text that goes with the screenshots word-for-word or present the screenshots in the exact same manner as the forum post. You have to use a bit of creative license with the presentation and captions
<Praxi> ya I suck at that stuff, why I just posted the link hehe
<Skizzerz> yeah, confusing >_> (*shoots copyright laws*)
<Praxi> hehe
<Skizzerz> I'm not all that familiar with the game to do that myself... so perhaps make a note on the talk page for that guide containing the link and the request for help
<Skizzerz> (you can get to the talk page by clicking the "Discussion" link in the toolbox on the right-hand colum)
<Praxi> k
<Praxi> ok think I asked for help in the right spot hehe
<Skizzerz> :)
