Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Randomeditor! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the community portal talk page. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- DrBob (talk) 06:30, 27 January 2008 (CST)

Scrolling maps[edit]

Why upload new maps for SMB which are exactly the same as the old ones and change the page to use them? It did nothing to enhance the guide. If you're just learning how to use wikimarkup, try the sandbox, and read our guide. --DrBob (talk) 06:30, 27 January 2008 (CST)

In that case you need to upload a new version of the pre-existing images. To do this, click on the image you want to replace, then click the "Upload a new version of this file" link and fill out the form. --DrBob (talk) 11:59, 30 January 2008 (CST)
Indeed, you do not need to upload an image under a new filename. Also, considering the low quality of your version, I suggest proposing the changes to Procyon (talk · contribs) (I would do it, but I don't have the empty block/1up mushroom sprites). It looks like you were using paint or something - try downloading GIMP. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 02:28, 31 January 2008 (CST)

User talk[edit]

Every user has a discussion page. You can reach it by clicking the "Discussion" link in the toolbox to the right. I know you didn't realize the correct way to do it, but do not edit other people's user page in the future. Even if you can't find the Discussion link, all you have to do is change the URL from something like User:Procyon to User_talk:Procyon. That's all there is to it. Procyon (Talk) 09:12, 30 January 2008 (CST)

Also, always sign messages that you leave for other users on their talk page, or on the Community Issues or Staff Lounge page, by adding ~~~~ to the end of your posts. Procyon (Talk) 09:14, 30 January 2008 (CST)
