I was planning on putting something like that up. Would it be best to have
a map like in Link to The Past, or a small map in Oracle of Ages? There are
game and dungeon maps done by TerraEsperZ I can put up. Of course, he gets the credit.
Snake's Remains will be slightly tricker, because it's split into two
parts. I'm looking forward to pushing this guide up to Stage 2 soon. --'''[[User:Superpowered Mario||<font color="Silver">Superpowered</font>]] [[User:Superpowered Mario|<span style="color:#000090">Mario</span>]]''' 19:25, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
:I've uploaded the Hero's Cave map. It's overall size is  quite big, but the scale it goes by is exact. I didn't want to tamper with it that much and throw it off. It's technically not a real dungeon, so I wouldn't worry about it. For Gnarled Root Dungeon, the map marks the items and staircases. The only enemies on it are the miniboss and boss, but it's to show keys in the dungeon. That one will be up momentairly.  --'''[[User:Superpowered Mario||<font color="Silver">Superpowered</font>]] [[User:Superpowered Mario|<span style="color:#000090">Mario</span>]]'''

I'm beginning to like working on this article. I feel like much at home now. Well, don't want to sound nasty but I do regret The Legend of Zelda The Windwaker last year, I was actually too stressed to work on the guide because of Christmas and Boxing Day so sorry about it.

Besides the screenshots which is my weakness, its actually the walkthrough which I admit is the hardest to do and I need some advice on that very part because I'm still thinking about it whether I should do it or not. When you write like a fresh walkthrough, what pointers should I use when I'm writing it? It might not be easy to understand but maybe it helps to learn more tricks of the trade as times are changing. So take your time and hope for the best. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 10:30, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind. When you're stress free knowing that you have fun with that game, I hope we can work together but since the weekend is coming, for now I'll try to compile available info like faqs, official websites etc, as long as its reliable. You should continue on cleaning up articles and whenever you're ready, you can help me on this article.

Not to spoil anything but I almost finish the game with Adrianna but I got so caught up with importing that I accidentally save over my life with my brothers file so that's something I like to laugh at. So I'll play the game again on the weekend and do my best to compile the info. Even though it's still not time to put collaberation of the month, I at least enjoy that I'm no longer alone. I hope DrBob isn't busy but thank you very much. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 07:16, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Lastly, go for it. If you love this game although I don't know what console you own but go for it. Go out there and buy the game. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 07:26, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey! How you are doing? I just wanna let you know that, it's pretty funny. I start off as Vahn and because of the strength and dexterity, I manage to blow through the story up to Act 3. The funniest thing is every act of every level comes in threes. Might not be true at first but that's the pattern. Anyway, I think I'm close to finishing the game. But it will be a while longer because I also want to play as Kromlech, Adrianna and Drizzt so I might not be able to edit for a while. Anyway, if you are playing the game, let me know how you go and what character are you playing. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 05:59, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

The Gauntlet is pretty hard for me so I decided a safe and time consuming way of finishing that mode to get extreme mode. I'd say I had to reach for the buttons to make the cheat work. I mean you need a big hand to go for the invincible cheat which I shouldn't do but I was frustrated at that point. I'm halfway finishing the game with Kromlech and found only the dwarfs interaction to be different to the other main characters. Anyway, so much for not having a diary! I'll be ready to write a walkthrough and see what methods each character has to use. It will be a few more days. Keep in touch. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 03:50, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Geez, I thought you are still busy cleaning up other articles. Well, I do like to think a lot anyway. Judging by the pages you did, I believe you did play that game. After all been along time since you ever did a walkthrough and I like to compliment you on it. So keep up the good work and if you need help, send me a message and I'll do it. I thought I'm going to have nightmares again but maybe soon I'll have a solo chance on a walkthrough when I'm brave enough. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 06:04, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

One last thing. I'm curious about the stages. Like stages 1 to stages 4. What are they and how do these work? What's the requirement for going upstage if I put it that way? Put a link to it if you are too busy to answer it. I'll see how it goes. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 06:39, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

No that's not what I mean! Each game article has stages. What examples could I give you? Medal of Honor Frontline is stage 4 which means the game article is completed in its highest degree. This game starts at stage 0 which means it's starts at the basic stage and it will take a ton of time until it reaches stage 4. In other words, if you check on the bottom of the main article title with the boxart which has category links, you might understand what I mean. [[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] 07:05, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Not to shatter any illusions but this game is also made by High Voltage Software. I wonder if it's too late to add it? I mean yes this game is made by Snowblind Studios but how should I put it? Any game you start, the developers or publishers logo or both comes at the beginning before you go to a menu of the game. By the end of June, this company would finish The Conduit which is a sci-fi shooting game made for the Wii. So if you think it's a good idea, you can put it in. If not than that's ok. == Sandbox ToC ==

Hey, I think the double-column layout should be replaced in favor of single column due to the whitespace it creates when only one is expanded and the unevenness between the two when both are expanded. For future ToCs (if it turns out we can do collapsible elements in there), we might want to think about using tables instead of divs to cure some of these problems. If rows were collapsible/expandable, we wouldn't have the unevenness problems. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 16:05, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

I spent the weekend updating my extractor to handle most of the new GMS encryption.  Still can't handle everything (as shown by some of the missing descriptions), but it does a fair amount.  I didn't have the chance to test images yet, but I'll try it out on the weekend. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 05:57, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
:Well, I finished updating my extractor to now handle all strings, images, and music.  I will have to do a full extract sometime to check that I'm not missing anything, but I'm not sure I want to put my computer through that.  Next up is a map renderer, but I'm not sure if I'll get around to that this month. -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 06:41, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

== Template:MapleStory/Claw ==

Hello! I have a problem with the template. The new JapanMS claw (Exiled Lampion) has got the same icon as Night Raven's Claw. I tried to use the Alternate Picture parameter but I don't know how does it work. [[User:Vigilium|Vigilium]] 18:32, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
:Something's really weird with that template, but I don't know what it is. For some reason it's treating the pipe in the image link as a new cell divider, even though it's not on a separate line. For now you'll have to use '''<tt>10=</tt>''filename.ext''''' to make it work. The same goes for changing the image size ('''<tt>11=</tt>''imagesize''px'''). — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 19:01, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

== Sentence case ==

You recently left a rather uninformed message on a user's talk page about the proper capitalization of lines in the form of:
*'''Something''': Something about it.
You said that the word immediately after the colon should not be capitalized as it is part of a sentence, but this is incorrect. The way we use bolding in lists such as these is as a mini-heading and in most cases a complete sentence cannot be made with or without the colon. For instance, from [[MapleStory/Towns/Crimsonwood Keep]]:
*'''Availability''': only available in GlobalMS
As you can see, "Availability only available in GlobalMS" is not a valid sentence, and not capitalizing "only" won't make it so. In fact, I'm of the opinion that since these are more often than not, ''not'' sentences, the word immediately following the colon ''should'' be capitalized, and this is how I form lists of this nature all the time. Just like headings and page names which use "sentence case", this same formatting should be applied to the list item following its bolded heading. If you prefer lowercase for some reason, that's fine, as it is more of a style issue, but I'd suggest you don't mislead other editors or change an existing style on a page in an effort to adhere to an inaccurate grammatical rule. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 21:28, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
:Firstly, nowhere on the Crimsonwood Keep page does the exact string "only available in GlobalMS" appear (it appears as "Availability: only GlobalMS."). Secondly, I agree with you, I used to do it that way (back in '07) until others made the "sentence case" policy more stringent, at which time the colon represented a continuation rather than a separation between the list topic (bolded term) and the proceeding information. I find it justified either way (one standard, and one jerry-rigged), but perhaps we should change things back to the old, normal way. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 15:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
::Yes, you're right, that quote was copied from a diff in Spadow's user contributions, so it must have been changed since then. At any rate, I've been thinking a good deal about creating a manual of style for the wiki, and I've only been stopped by not having worked up the stomach to face the inevitable resistance I'd meet. I've been asked recently by an editor where they can find our manual of style, and I've noted that there is not an entirely uniform application of existing styles by users or administrators, so I do think it would be helpful. If we could come to a consensus (a tall order, I know) about how to manage lists, tables, quotes, bolding, italics, dates, etc., it would make for a good reference for all editors, give us criteria on which to judge future Featured Guide nominees and help us (admins) dispense the same information when helping users. Of course this goes against the laissez-faire attitude I've largely encountered here, but someday I might start a serious campaign for it. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 16:36, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
:::The problem is that we need to find evidence (a manual for English grammar) before being able to justify one policy decision over another. I've briefly tried finding info on the colon issue brought up above, but it's difficult without having some sort of accurate term to use in a search. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 16:45, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
::::This is a pretty minor issue, but it seems to represent a more widespread problem across SW.  I think that Naj is right that we need some sort of Manual of Style.  On the one hand, I like being able to write the way I like (for example, I prefer headings and subheadings to be like book titles, capitalizing most important words rather than sentence style like we have it).  But on the other hand, if we're going to have more stringent policies in one case and not in another, something needs to change.  I think a Manual of Style would be a good addition and Naj, if you want to go for it, I'll support you.  In this specific case, I tend to agree with Naj's perspective on the capitalization.  If that's how it used to be and something changed, I'd say it needs to go back.--'''[[User:Dukeruckley|<font color="blue">Duke</font><font color="red">Ruckley</font>]]<small>[[User_talk:Dukeruckley|Talk]] <nowiki>|</nowiki> [[Special:Contributions/Dukeruckley|Contribs]]</small>''' 19:58, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
:::::@Notmyhandle: We can largely borrow from Wikipedia's [[wp:Wikipedia:Manual of Style|Manual of Style]], although they go into greater consideration than I think we ought to. Our manual of style would be useful to catalogue common styles found throughout the wiki and to which we could add any further issues as they come up, such as formatting a bulleted list and whatnot. Though [[wp:Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Colons|Wikipedia]] doesn't have a guideline for our particular case of using colons with bolded list items, it can be inferred that the rule for complete sentences wouldn't apply to fragments like ours.
:::::@Dukeruckley: I can't say where we got the idea to do sentence case (from Wikipedia I suppose?), and it's always seemed awkward to me as well, though I'm by now very used to it. I'm not overly concerned with ''what'' exactly is the style guideline so much as that we have one everyone can use consistently, but I do prefer the use of correct grammar and, whenever possible, to agree with Wikipedia's styles.
:::::— [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]]<sup>[[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]]</sup> 20:32, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
::::::I believe DrBob is the primary proponent of sentence case, but I'd like to hear from the other bureaucrats (primarily because they might have logs of the discussion) before implementing a "new" and official standard. As far as I remember, the main reason sentence case came into play was with headers. I originally argued for camel case headers ("The Dog Sat"). --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 00:17, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

== Dracula disambiguation page ==

Hi, could you look at [[Dracula (disambiguation)]] and fix any of the Bram Stoker's Dracula links? Also while you're in there, what are your thoughts on the Castlevania section? Just link to the category? Just use the blue links that are actual page names? — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090">najzere</span>]][[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300">T</span>]] 06:42, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

== CV needs moar redirects ==

lol, just kidding around, but in all seriousness, at least ''one'' of the multiple Japanese name redirects that you added should be a fully categorized redirect, in that it is the official title of the game as it is known in Japan, and should therefore show up in {{c|Games}} and {{c|Castlevania}} and any other pertinent console cats.  Would you agree?  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 16:01, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
:Ahah yeah I was all psyched about redirecting all of those combinations. Hm... I didn't redirect most of the actual Japanese titles. Oh well, someone who is deeply interested in those games will do it when the guides are complete. But seriously, as per our policy, yes I agree. Unfortunately, when I was making those pages as well as writing this message, instructions for categorizing redirects didn't exist. I've added it to [[StrategyWiki:Guide/Categorization]]. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 22:30, 14 October 2009 (UTC)
::Question: which do we choose for [[Castlevania: The Adventure]]? Obviously, "Legend of Dracula" should be a redirect with cats (assuming that is the European regionalization). But what about "Dracula Densetsu"? Since the game's box art prints "[[ドラキュラ伝説]]", we should use the straight Japanese name as the catted redirect, right? --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 06:07, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
:::Sorry NMH, missed this response.  I would put the cats on the ''untranslated'' romanji title.  So Dracula Densetsu would get them and Legend of Dracula would simply be a redirect.  In theory, we would only categorize names of games that actually came out.  No game ever actually received the title "Legend of Dracula". My plan for the equipment pages was supposed to be a guide on suggestions of what to wear as you leveled.  It definitely deserves mention in each of the guides, but I'm not sure how long it would become and if it would require it's own page. What do you think? -- [[User:Prod|Prod]] ([[User talk:Prod|Talk]]) 05:31, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
:Considering the range of equipment available, I think it is more pertinent to just say "At level whatever you can now train here. You can also get this equipment if you are this build and have this much money." For statless builds that use level req 0 equips (e.g. Workgloves), I think that should be part of the walkthrough section when we get around to reviving it. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 18:01, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

== Hello Again! ==

Heya.  Yeah, I went off to the beach last December and I totally lost my focus.  I guess that can be a good or bad thing.

And I was posting on here a couple of days ago and thinking about how I have not been a hot head lately.

And then I go to the bank during "rush hour" and this jerk in front of me didn't like what the bank was doing and decided to stay there until they "changed their mind."  Evidently, he was trying to withdraw money from his account that hadn't processed yet.  After being stuck behind him for like 20-25 minutes, I had it.  I got out of my car and gave him a royal cussing.  I waved the cars behind me to back up -- they saw what was happening.  I was able to get out of that line, went into the "business line," and instead of being kicked out for not being business, they apologized for the wait and I received a big smile.  I think they were happy I told the guy in line what they were thinking.

Anyway, good "seeing" you again.

==Re: Images==

Thanks for the help with the Category fix on my image, and for adding the <I>Game-specific</I> category for the rest of the images! I was wondering why even though it was spelled correctly ''ScreenShots'' wasn't being accepted as a listed category, but now I know it is case sensitive so now I won't have that issue anymore. I'm planning to add a few more images in the ''Terminology'' and ''Creating Songs'' pages over the weekend...as well as possibly an additional article on ''StepMania online'' once I get myself a bit more familiar with it. So now I can have all of the StepMania related images in their own category for reference as well as the other ones.

Thanks again, and I sure will!

== Category game lists  ==

It would be good to have a more formal guidelines, perhaps it is worth addressing in the forum? A new page on [[StrategyWiki:Guide]] advising what should or should not be on the "Category" pages, would be helpful.

The reason I replaced the list with the Template was because the system information (and in the case of [[:Category:Grand Theft Auto]] the release dates) are available on the individual game pages. Additionally, as shown by GTA, the lists are sometimes forgotten about. The Template is shown on the Main game pages and updated more accurately, thus one edit is covering two pages. However the GTA list of games does clearly show the progression of the series and act as a quick reference guide. - [[User:Trevman|Trevman]] 18:33, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

He shows no proof that the 'translated' skill names are accurate. Well, Zienth says that I have to put them on a translator, but a machine translator is not reliable. A human translation is way more accurate and better than a machine translator.

Hi FlyXwing, what version of MapleStory do you play, EMS? Does the dropped tax (6%) only occur if a different player picks up the mesos? In GMS, if I drop 50,000 Mesos and pick it back up I don't lose anything. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 18:33, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

yes, it is when another player pick up the mesos. That player would only receive 47k mesos.(from experience with meso drop games)

It is mostly to encourage people to use the trade function, with less than 1% tax.(at least for 50k)

Also to deter hackers by using one computer, dropping mesos and picking it up. Not very effective...

Hey NMH.  In the relatively close future, I will be working on the guide for Ninja Gaiden (unfortunately, I have to get through the NES version of Godzilla first...)  One thing weird that I noticed was that the arcade version of [[Ninja Gaiden]] (which is distinct from the NES version) just has two walkthrough pages for Act V and Act VI, which you put there in February of last year.  However, these walkthrough pages are for the NES version.  You put them there so I just wanted to double check with you about them.  Oddly enough, the NES guide is missing two pages, but their for act 4 and 5, not 5 and 6, which means there will be a collision on 6, and 4 will still be empty, which is fine with me, I just wanted to get some clarification on things before I proceed.  Thanks man.  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 23:17, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry. I couldn't think of a way to add japanese localization names to this game. I thought adding a note is enough but in the end, it just doesn't work at all. Anyway, I got hooked up on Xenoblade Chronicles. I won't be editing for a while now that I'm trying to get everything from the new game. I took gamefaq notes, gamespot maps and a few other because the game itself is complex and big. So sorry for the misinterpretation back there. For now, I'm keeping my mind on getting through Xenoblade and checking the requirements on sidequests.
== Patrolling edits ==

If you still don't understand, that's ok because mistakes becomes a common thing in my life now. For now, I'll chat to you when I have free time on my hands ok? Thanks.
Wow, that is a daunting amount of unpatrolled edits. Is it necessary to patrol them all, or can we give more trusted editors a pass? When there are multiple unpatrolled edits for a single page, do we need to patrol every one of them or just the most recent edit, skimming the page to ensure nothing is wrong?

[[User:Johnnyauau2000|Johnnyauau2000]] ([[User talk:Johnnyauau2000|talk]]) 15:25, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
Lastly, does quality control concern factual information or just grammar and writing style? I patrolled early when I became a sysop, but noticed that there are a lot of edits I can't really verify the truth of due to having never played the game in question. For instance, if an anon makes a correction on an obscure game, I worry can't tell if it's an actual change or subtle vandalism. :Wow, thank you, Proc! That was a great surprise and reward for logging in today. I know there are some hidden functions around here but I probably won't use them much. It will take me a while to get used to not having someone above me in the wiki! :D Yeah I think a bunch of the guys would like to do more, but in some cases they aren't willing to step up without some encouragement, so the more we can talk to them the more valuable they will be to the project. It's hard to change people from one activity to another so I don't want to try that (e.g. with Namcorules, Onderduiker, or Tedium; they do what they do and they do it well). If they think they could use deletion powers for their projects, then we can consider it, but for the most part we should just work with our active admins at the moment until we see any new ones come up. I was hoping Rod would turn into an admin eventually but... well we know how that went. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 18:15, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for the appreciation of my Pokémon taxonomy. The idea started when some ignorant American said thing against evolutionary theory, and I thought that there was an obvious translation mistake: pokémons "evolve" the same way a child "evolves" into an adult, and what are called "species" are really "life stages". I actually never had the patience to clear any Pokemon videogame (nor any other breeding videogame: I prefer role-playing VG's), but I like zoology and taxonomy. --[[User:Abacos|Abacos]] ([[User talk:Abacos|talk]]) 09:03, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

== Clash of Ninja 2 ==
== 3d classics ==

I want to propose something about that CoN2 guide, and since you were the one that changed the level, I figure you know what you're doing. Is the sub-ToC really necessary? Strategies for the characters can be added on those characters' pages (especially considering how their move sets remain largely unchanged throughout the series) and dividing the game into story chapters really isn't necessary. The story mode is essentially Street Fighter with a bunch of text in between fights. The only major difference is the fights aren't randomized, and I'm not sure if that's enough to warrant having strategies down on every single chapter. The only basic strategy I can think of is beat the crap out of your opponent. :P I don't think each battle requires a strategy. A game like Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, where the bosses change phases throughout the battles after a bunch of QTEs, would need strategies for each chapter. Clash of Ninja 2 is just your average fighting game. Tell me what you think. :) --[[User:E-123Wario54|<span style="color:Purple">'''Wario'''</span>]][[User talk:E-123Wario54|<span style="color:Blue">'''Talk'''</span>]] 17:11, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
Hi NMH.  I think based on the whole VC vs. non-VC discussion we've been having recently, it isn't necessarily correct to classify 3D classics as VC titles. Basically, they strip out the background and reproduce it, typically at a higher resolution, and code it to appear in 3D using the 3DS stereoscopic screen. Unlike the VC titles which are virtually unchanged from their original release, these are pretty substantial code changes, even though the gameplay is essentially exactly the same. You can see the effect [http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/Jh-8m_ayxVBEk4JRbFVlOY1CThV5Nm1H here]. It's pretty impressive actually. == Control Selector ==
:Yeah I'm with you on that. I watched a couple of videos to see how the games are loaded and how it looks. I've also identified two sources that talks about feature changes (which I need to add to the page). I made the assertion, in response to Tedium's edit, in an effort to get us to start thinking about this issue (I was not 100% sure about it). It's its own software (when you're on the 3DS menu to select a game, Virtual Console games have a little subtitle on their icon; the same for 3D Classics, but a different subtitle). Technically it would have its own category, like Nintendo 3DS 3D Classics, as a software 'type'. I know that's not really a thing, but as far as we're concerned, it's on the 3DS, it's not in the 3DS VC list of games, and we have a 3D Classics category, so, with it in the 3DS system category that's fine. The distinction I am having a problem with, then, is why the Virtual Console gets its own ''system'' category, but say, 3D Classics does not? Sure the VC is an emulator, but do we really care about the sub-rendering engines of each console? What if a console has two different emulators, or 100 for thought's sake, are we going to have multiple ''system'' categories for this console? I would rather have all games in the console's category (since it can be legitimately played on that console) and have the release groups in a non-system category (the way {{c|3D Classics}} is). I hate to suggest more changes - the whole VC thing makes me tired. --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 22:51, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

The reason it isn't working is because of the <tt>visibility</tt> parameter in {{t|control selector}} and the fact that {{t|DW3enemy}} tries to force an image. So the NES and GBC controls are putting the monster name into "DW3 monster *.png" as normal, while the SNES control is trying to use <tt><nowiki>[[File:DW3 monster [[File:DW3 monster *.png|left]].png]]</nowiki></tt>. The discussions weren't about the name of the template, but yes about presentation—control selector is a presentation template. It's supposed to be used in prose in guides, not in tables where each system should get its own field or column. — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090;font-variant:small-caps;">Najzere</span>]]&nbsp;·&nbsp;[[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300;font-variant:small-caps;font-weight:normal;">Talk</span>]] 17:14, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
==Neutral POV Response==
:Well I see you were in the middle of working on all that, so I'm not sure how much of the above is applicable aside from the prior decision to only use control selector in prose. :P — [[User:Najzere|<span style="color:#909090;font-variant:small-caps;">Najzere</span>]]&nbsp;·&nbsp;[[User talk:Najzere|<span style="color:#993300;font-variant:small-caps;font-weight:normal;">Talk</span>]] 17:19, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
::I reverted all of my tests.  I'm going to just simplify it into part of the table.  I tried and failed to make a duplicate control selector class that would modify a visibility css attribute rather than a display one, since they behave differently and I was hoping visibility would enable the images to load better.  --{{User:Notmyhandle/Sig}} 17:23, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Some Monster don't exist in NES so there is no Pic to show it. For example: Instead of Divinegon a red url [[File:DW3 monster NES -.png]] will be shown. How should we solve that? I also want to ask you to use something different to mark Bosses, since bolded Text is diffult to spot from the other normal Monster Name. How about using color or so? == [[StrategyWiki:Featured_guides/Current_requests#Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar|Nomination]]: Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar for featured ==

Hey NMH.  Again, I think it might be best to treat the translation of the monster names with a little more credibility.  Consider who translated the game.  [http://www.dqtranslations.com/ DQ Translations] is not just some run-of-the-mill translation group, they are hardcore DQ fans and enthusiasts. They are not going to come up with any names for monsters that don't in some way reflect the name of a monster that they don't think Enix themselves would have chosen. Considering that there will never be an official release of SNES DQ3, I don't think it's worth giving Paco a hard time about using the translation names. More than likely, anyone playing the SNES version is going to be using the DQ Translations patch, so if we ''don't'' use their monster names, it may confuse some of the players (although the pics will lend plenty of clarity).  Given the reputation that the translation group has, I certainly feel comfortable using their names.  '''[[User:Procyon|<span style="color:red">Pro</span>]][[User talk:Procyon|<span style="color:grey">cyon</span>]]''' 00:51, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Ninja Gaiden walkthrough pages[edit]

Hey NMH. In the relatively close future, I will be working on the guide for Ninja Gaiden (unfortunately, I have to get through the NES version of Godzilla first...) One thing weird that I noticed was that the arcade version of Ninja Gaiden (which is distinct from the NES version) just has two walkthrough pages for Act V and Act VI, which you put there in February of last year. Thanks man. Procyon 23:17, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Completely different games. Like, even more distinct than Double Dragon and Double Dragon (NES). Other than the fact that the main character is a ninja, they have very little in common. Ninja Gaiden arcade has more resemblance to Final Fight. Hardcodegaming101 has an incredible write up on the series. Procyon 02:00, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Patrolling edits[edit]

Wow, that is a daunting amount of unpatrolled edits. Is it necessary to patrol them all, or can we give more trusted editors a pass? When there are multiple unpatrolled edits for a single page, do we need to patrol every one of them or just the most recent edit, skimming the page to ensure nothing is wrong?

Lastly, does quality control concern factual information or just grammar and writing style? I patrolled early when I became a sysop, but noticed that there are a lot of edits I can't really verify the truth of due to having never played the game in question. For instance, if an anon makes a correction on an obscure game, I worry can't tell if it's an actual change or subtle vandalism. T.testLP(talk) 05:44, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Ditto on the daunting, I didn't know it was so bad. I'll try to do what I can. Do talk pages have to be patrolled though? Congrats btw. :) --WarioTalk 21:35, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Congratulations[edit]

Hey man, just wanted to congratulate you. I know going from admin to crat doesn't really offer much in the way of function, it's really just a title, but you've been with SW for so long, and I was really impressed with your requests to the other admins. You step up in a lot of ways, and you reach out to us outside of the site itself. Seeing as your last promotion was in 2007 (omg...) this seemed like an overdue reward for all of your hard work. Thanks so much man. P.S. We need to recruit more admins :P Procyon 14:37, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

Wow, thank you, Proc! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:15, 21 April 2015 (UTC)

3d classics[edit]

You can see the effect here. It's pretty impressive actually. Procyon 18:18, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Yeah I'm with you on that. The distinction I am having a problem with, then, is why the Virtual Console gets its own system category, but say, 3D Classics does not? Sure the VC is an emulator, but do we really care about the sub-rendering engines of each console? What if a console has two different emulators, or 100 for thought's sake, are we going to have multiple system categories for this console? I would rather have all games in the console's category (since it can be legitimately played on that console) and have the release groups in a non-system category (the way 3D Classics is). I hate to suggest more changes - the whole VC thing makes me tired. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 22:51, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
