Dump trucks, or Dumpers, excel at carrying large amounts of bulk material. Bulk material in Construction Simulator refers to soil, gravel, and sand, usually from the gravel plant. All dump trucks have a dump body (sometimes called a dump box) in which bulk material is loaded from above. Bulk material can be loaded either at the gravel plant, or less commonly, by other construction machines like wheel loaders, backhoes, excavators, or cold planers.
Dump trucks are so named for their ability to raise the dump body at an angle and cause the material inside to spill, or dump, out the back. This makes them decent at spreading gravel or soil to cover a road or bury an underground pipe.
Only dedicated asphalt dumpers can carry asphalt, while cement must be carried by a cement mixer. Dump trucks cannot load cement or asphalt.
Official Description: Dumpers transport bulk materials such as earth, gravel, or sand. Hot asphalt can also be moved with asphalt dumpers. Always look for the symbol in the machine description. It shows you what kind of load may be transported with the machine. In addition to pure transport, dumpers can also be used for unloading or spreading on construction sites. Tip: Dumpers are used on most construction sites. It pays to invest early.
Dump Trucks[edit]
Standard dump trucks.
Articulated Dump Trucks[edit]
Equipped with a hinge in the middle to aid in sharper turns. Typically has a higher capacity than non-articulated dump trucks.
Asphalt Dumper[edit]
Can only carry asphalt. Asphalt dump trucks are loaded in the same manner as other dump trucks, though with asphalt instead.
To unload the asphalt dumper, park the rear of the truck such that it will drop the asphalt into the asphalt paver's receptacle. Then lift the dumper to dump the asphalt directly into the paver. The dump truck will automatically stop pouring if the paver cannot accept any asphalt, due to distance or being full.
