Tech Orbs are littered throughout the game and are the currency used to purchase upgrades in the Trip Shop. Starting in Chapter 3, you can also collect Masks, which are glitches produced by the slave headband that manifest as floating white masks surrounded by pixelated white noise. Both Tech Orbs and Masks are tracked by chapter in the Chapter Select menu, accessible from the Main Menu. The Tech Orbs you've collected are displayed as a percentage (0–100%) and Masks will show you how many you've collected out of the total for the chapter (n/n). You can go back and play a chapter whenever you want, and you get to keep all your upgrades. When revisiting a chapter, only the Tech Orbs you haven't collected yet will be in the field, and you will need to get to the next checkpoint in the chapter (or the end of the chapter) to keep them.

Mask locations are included within the walkthrough pages, marked by a icon. There are 26 Masks in total, and only the Masks you haven't collected and the ones you are forced to collect are present on the field. The following chapters all have Masks:
