Stage 3-1[edit]

Super Chinese Stage 3-1.png
  • You will encounter nothing but Buffalo Bison fighters. You will face the brown and pink kind, who know how to punch and kick respectively. If you've relied on kicking up to this point in the game, you're going to have to learn how to use punch attacks very quickly.
  • You can find a grand total of three lost treasures in this stage. Unfortunately, they are all treasures that you've had an opportunity to collect before, so you probably won't find anything new unless you warped here from Stage 1-2.
  • Another bonus room provides you with a good opportunity for an extra life, in addition to a collection of bonus points for every apple hit.

Stage 3-2[edit]

  • You will have to fight your way past Buffalo Bison, Gunmen, and Hakaidans in this stage. Jumping will be useful against all but the first, so be careful not to confuse a Buffalo for a Gunman.
  • This stage should serve to demonstrate the importance of attacking more than just the blocks. There are two lost treasures, but one of them is hidden in a tile with no block on it. You must punch above the center blocks in order to find the mirror. The Sword is a little easier to find, and very necessary if you wish to defeat enemies later on.
  • The key found in this room will open up a set of stairs that leads to a warp zone. The pipes lead to 13 (4-1) or 17 (5-1). Don't advance unless you are confident in your skills.

Stage 3-3[edit]

  • This is the first stage where you will encounter the bullet shooting Dragon Men. In addition to the Isoginchacks and Buffalo Bison, the Dragon Men will wander about. If you found the Sword in the previous stage, you will be in good shape to fight them. Otherwise, you must simply avoid them entirely and destroy the enemies that you can fight.
  • The block in the upper right corner features a hidden entrance to a "Break Time". Ordinarily you will just be given points, but sometimes you are given the opportunity to collect the hearts. If you are simply given the points, press Start button to resume play before the 30 seconds are up.

Stage 3-4[edit]

  • This stage tends to be very aggressive. With no power-ups except a supply of Miracle Kicks to be found, you will have to rely a little more on your reflexes. Spearmen and Buffalo Bison are your primary targerts, but Uni-gons will appear from time to time.
  • This stage also features the introduction of Bubblins; little balls of fire that leap out from the pits and fly to some other part of the stage a few squares away. You must avoid these fires at all costs, there is no way to stop them.
  • At this point, you can attempt to brave a hand to hand fight with a Uni-gon, but even though you possess enough power, your chances are still pretty slim since he can trample you before you get all five hits off.
  • As before, if you've saved up enough money bags, you can purchase a Power Ball and knock off the required number of bad guys, including any Uni-gons that appear, rather quickly.
