Before all of the enemies are introduced, here are a few battle tips. Only four enemies will occupy the screen at any time. Since this game is a martial arts contest, in order to defeat your opponents, you must come as close to them as they need to be to hit you. This means that speed and positioning count the most. Early on in the game, enemies start out with slow reaction times. Even if you stand in front of them, they take a while to wind up and attack you. Later on in the game, this scenario could turn deadly, with punches and kicks being thrown as soon as you are close enough to be attacked. Therefore it is essential to position yourself so that you have the advantage, and strike first! As it happens, although the game is presented in a pseudo-3D fashion, the collision detection of the screen is rather flat. This means, if you are standing a square or so above your enemy, and punch to the left or right, you will likely damage the enemy, even though they are below you. Additionally, attacking diagonally gives you a chance to punch your enemy before the fully occupy a square immediately next to you. As always, practice makes perfect, so try all sorts of attack methods before you start playing the game seriously and find out which attacks work best for you.

Kung-Fu Commando[edit]

Super Chinese Kung-Fu Commando.png

The Kung-Fu Commando is a basic enemy of the game. They are worth 500 points and come in three varieties. The brown ones use punches. The pink ones use kicks, and the purple ones can utilize both attacks. They don't move too quickly, and you can usually see their attack coming a split moment before they execute it. Any type of attack will work against them.

Buffalo Bison[edit]

Super Chinese Buffalo Bison.png

Buffalo Bison are the next evolution in Kung-Fu Commandos. They are worth 1000 points and cannot be defeated with regular kicks, due to the horns on their head. They come in the same three varieties, but they are much stronger, and require increasing levels of punch power to defeat. If you are punching a Buffalo Bison and it is not going down, you are not powerful enough to defeat, and must find some other method.

Debugon[edit]

Super Chinese Debugon.png

Also known as Spear Men. They are worth 1000 points and can be defeated just as handily as the Kung-Fu Commandos, but they carry deadly spears and they aren't afraid to use them. In the beginning, they can only thrust them so far, but as the game continues, their spear's reach begins to extend. In the second to last stage of the game, they can actually throw the spears as well. If you jump over their spear attacks, you will earn extra points.

Gunman[edit]

Super Chinese Gunman.png

Gunman fire bullets at you. They are worth 1000 points and can be defeated with any type of attack. You can jump over their bullets to earn extra points, and even attack them with a kick at the same time. Even when gunmen are far away from you, be on the lookout for any bullets that they might have fired at you.

Dragon Man[edit]

Super Chinese Dragon Man.png

Stronger than Buffalo Bison with the attack powers of a Gunman, these are the elite fighters of the Ryuichi clan. Their favorite method of attack is to fire a black bullet in your direction, which must be avoided at all costs. They are so powerful, that nothing short of a sword strike can bring them down. If you have not collected the lost sword treasure, you will be helpless to defeat this enemy. Equip the sword and swing the blade to bring them down for 3000 points each.

Dragon Head[edit]

Super Chinese Dragon Head.png

As if the Dragon Men weren't enough, these disembodied dragon heads slither around the floor of certain stages. They can only be attacked by kicks, and only if you are in possession of at least 5 of the secret treasures. Without five treasures, they will be immune to your attacks. Even worse, the Dragon Heads in stage 7-4 and 8-4 appear to be invulnerable to any form of attack. Those that can be killed will earn you 5000 points.

Princess Cat[edit]

Super Chinese Princess Cat.png

Also known as the Cat Mage. These half-cat demoness beings are very powerful. They are worth 5000 points when destroyed, but they can only be killed if you have reached a punch power level of three and you have found Scroll A. By the time they appear, you should have accomplished this. They know a powerful spell that can turn you into stone. When you become petrified, you must wait before you can move again, and you are vulnerable to any other enemies attack. Stay clear of their magic.

Wild Cat[edit]

Super Chinese Wild Cat.png

Also known as Ware Cats, they are another disembodied head, this time it is of a cat. Wild Cats maneuver across the floor in an effort to run into you. However, they can't actually kill you directly. Instead, they have the ability to shove you across the floor in whatever direction they are moving. They are invulnerable to all attacks except a sword. Swing your sword to destroy them and earn 3000 points.

Medusa Cat[edit]

Medusa Cats are the mature form of the Princess Cats. Their heads float around the stage, and they are able to fire petrification spells from their mouths. In addition to this, they can kill you instantly upon contact. Like the Princess Cats, they require a high punch power and Scroll A if you wish to defeat them. If you do, you will earn 5000 points.

Hakaidan[edit]

Super Chinese Hakaiden.png

Also known as Mr. Coffin. This burial spirit wanders around the playfield in hopes of catching Lee or Jacky. There are three different strengths for the Hakaidan. When the weakest ones catch the player, they are merely held in place until they jump out by rapidly pressing kick. The next strong kind can kill the player if the player doesn't escape in time. The strongest kind are invisible to the player unless the beads treasure has been found. While they can always be defeated with a Miracle Kick, they can't be defeated with a regular kick unless Talisman A is found. They are worth 1000 points when defeated.

Isoginchack[edit]

Super Chinese Isoginchack.png

Also known as Floating Vipers or sea anemones, they are cultivated by the Dragon Men. They begin to appear on Stage 1-2, and they are worth 1000 points if you squash them with a kick. Punches are ineffective against them. There are two varieties of these strange creatures, floating ones that are lethal to the touch, and hopping ones that shoot beams in addition to being dangerous to touch.

Uni-gon[edit]

Super Chinese Yunigon.png

Uni-gons are large hulking creatures that are so terrifying to witness, even the enemies flee the stage when they appear. Uni-gons fear very little and they hunt you down with determination. They breath fire when you are in their line of sight. They can be defeated by punching them five times in the midsection, but you must do this very quickly, or escape before you get trampled underneath their feet. Each hit earns you 3000 points, and you will earn 30,000 for defeating it, in addition to spawning an Extra Ball somewhere on the stage. If the Uni-gon is not defeated in some time, it makes its escape through one side of the screen, and it may even return later on.

Dragon[edit]

Super Chinese Dragon.png

Dragons are large beasts that can roam the stage along with the other enemies, unlike the Uni-gon. In fact, more than one can occupy the screen at one time. The conditions for defeating them are the same as for the Dragon Heads: you must be in possession of at least five lost treasures. If you have this many, you can use a Miracle Kick or swing your sword, but you must hit it five times. They can kill you by merely touching you, so you much attack with care. Each hit is worth 3000 points, while defeating one will net you 10,000.

Fire Skull[edit]

Super Chinese Fire Skull.png

Also known as Will 'o Wisps. These creatures will appear after you have spent a long period of time on the same stage. They are pesky and slowly hunt you down in an effort to touch you and set you on fire. You can remove them by jumping over them a total of three times. Each time you do, you will earn an increasing number of points.

Inazuma Traps[edit]

Super Chinese Lightning.gif

The floors of certain stages are charged electrically. When this occurs, arcs a lightning will flash across the floor. If you happen to be standing on or moving across the floor when this lightning strikes, you will lose one life. In order to avoid it, you must run away or time a leap over it carefully, so as not to get shocked. However, if you are in possession of the mirror, it is possible to reflect the lightning back in the opposite direction as long as you are facing it as it approaches you. You will know if a stage contains lightning right away as it will always be the first thing that attacks you.

Bubblin[edit]

Super Chinese Bubblin.png

Bubblins leap out of pits and arc into nearby floor tiles or ponds. They cannot be destroyed and must be avoided at all costs.

Daibuchan[edit]

Super Chinese Daibuchan.png

Also known as Golem, these little Buddha statues line the north wall of some stages. They fire bullets down the screen in a steady stream. They are indestructible, and you must avoid getting hit by their bullets. Possession of the Crystal Ball is said to decrease their rate of fire.
