New in the second installment is creating your own character. If you're tired of skating as the pros, want to skate as yourself, or make up a character of your own, then this mode will help with that. Keep in mind that completing the entire game and unlocking Spider-Man will require you to beat career mode with a custom skater.

Basics[edit]

The skater's name, hometown, and other bio tidbits.

When you first start Create Skater, you'll see four empty slots. You can pick any slot to start creating your skater. The initial step is to edit your skater's biography: name, hometown, age, style (all around, vert, or street), stance (regular or goofy), and weight (from 88 lbs to 378 lbs). Keep in mind that weight actually affects your skater's appearance. Once you're satisfied, you can press continue to move on.

On the second screen, you'll change how your skater looks. Complexion will change the skin color of your skater and the type you choose will give you different hair styles. If you picked a cap for your skater, you can change the color of it. For your skater's torso, there are many tops to pick. Their colors can be changed, both the main shirt and the sleeves separately. If you decide for your skater to go shirtless, you can pick a tattoo to adorn your skater's torso. If the shirt is blank, you can add a logo to it. There are also pants and shoes to pick and if you chose shorts or bunched up pants, you can pick socks as well.

Place your extra points before moving on.

After appearance, you'll see your stats. Depending on the style you chose, your stats will vary, but you also get five points to place your stats anywhere you like. Remember to put those extra stats before moving on or they will be wasted.

The fourth screen will list the trick your skater has. Since a custom skater starts with no money, you can't buy new tricks for them, but you can rearrange the tricks you do have to different button combinations if you want. What tricks you'll get depends on the skate style you've chosen.

Finally, your custom skater will get a deck. Unlike pro skaters that only start with one deck, custom skaters get ten to choose from with ten more that can be bought in the career mode. Choose the skateboard you want with left and right or pick different brands with up and down. You can also adjust your trucks here for different turning: tight, medium, or loose. Once that's done, you'll have the option to save your skater into a career file or continue without saving. Either way, enjoy your new character!
