Nomination for sys admin[edit]

Hello Paco. I talked it over with Prod, and we both agreed that you should be nominated for a sys admin position. You are not obligated to accept this nomination, but please let us know whether you do or do not accept it on your nomination page. If you do accept, please answer the three questions, and it will go to a community vote. Whether you accept or not, thank you very much for all of your hard work. Procyon 14:47, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Congratulations on the well-deserved promotion. I may have been premature, but I knew I recognized your talent :) Procyon 04:19, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. Now the World Domination is one step closer. :p Paco (talk) 18:01, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Finally! No more rename tags are necessary :D Congrats! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:38, 2 October 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, but that don't mean you can start getting lazy. :D Paco (talk) 18:01, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

Tables in spoilers[edit]

You can absolutely add a table into a spoiler. But you need to use the ! template whenever you mean |, and you need to add a new line before the start of the table. So it would look like:

{{spoiler|title=My spoiler|content=
{{{!}} {{prettytable}}
{{!}}+ My spoiler table
! Header1 {{!}}{{!}} Header2
{{!}}-
{{!}} Body {{!}}{{!}} Body2
{{!}}}
}}

It's a little ugly, but that will result in:

My spoiler
My spoiler table
Header1 Header2
Body Body2

Links on your user page[edit]

You can add links to third party sites on your user page. Just don't turn your page into a giant advertisement or something. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:43, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Is it fine like this? or should i remove it again? Paco (talk) 19:05, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes. Btw, we could use those maps, too! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:42, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

Ultima VII changes[edit]

Hi Paco. Is there an ending sequence when you beat the game? Can you add info regarding the ending to a new section on Ultima VII Part Two: Serpent Isle/Sunrise Isle? Thanks. Btw, grats on CS4. Let's get it featured! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:00, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

There is one. I have now added some Info on it as you requested. Anymore Question on U7 SI and SS? And don't forget to make Silver Seed featured either. Paco (talk) 19:05, 17 May 2012 (UTC)
Great! I will ask more questions as I begin to review the content. It looks like you're done, so I will start on that soon. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:42, 17 May 2012 (UTC)

[Dragon Quest 3]

Dragon Quest 4 & Mystic Ark[edit]

  • Dragon Quest 4: I confirm: although it seems unusual, Antidote can only be used outside battle. (Still, in any video game with poison & antidote, I always use the antidote outside battle; otherwise, if you cure poison in battle, the enemy can poison you again, and you just wasted one turn.
  • Mystic Ark: I only played part of the first stage, but I loved Elnard, therefore the two "sequels" are in my video game list. Do you know about any fan translation of Mystic Ark 2 (for PSX)? --Abacos (talk) 10:37, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Do you mean Mystic Ark: Maboroshi Gekijo? I didn't find any Info on Mystic Ark 2. There isn't any Info for a Translation for it on Romhacking, so there is none. Paco (talk) 15:37, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

Thank you./TOC[edit]

For your help. --Osekrg353 (talk) 20:34, 21 July 2012 (UTC) If I can help you with the TOC's please let me know how, Thank you again. --Osekrg353 (talk) 20:40, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Look at other pages here to see how it's build up so you learn how to do it. I learned how it work here after i registered here too. Paco (talk) 10:15, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Portal FG nomination[edit]

Please review, here: StrategyWiki:Featured guides/Current requests. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 07:15, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

A lot of work has been done since your previous comment on the nomination. Can you take another look? -- Prod (talk) 16:44, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
It's not ready, yet. Getting started needs more content revision, I am almost finished with a playthrough/cleanup of the main page, and each chamber is missing advanced mode/challenge info. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:48, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

I'm still behind in RC, but if it isn't ready yet, it should be removed from the nomination page and re-added when the current issues have been fixed. -- Prod (talk) 04:24, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Enemies and Items pages[edit]

Hi Paco. This is just a suggestion, and you can feel free to ignore it, but when it comes to those long items and enemies pages, I've switched to a table format, like Demon_Sword/Items_(Fudo_Myouoden). It takes a little more work to set up, but it eliminates a few problems, like a crazy long page toc, and wide single lines of text. Anyway, like I said, it's just a suggestion, if you're happy with the page layout the way it is, by all means, keep it that way. Procyon 15:57, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

By no means is these pages final. I just wanted to uploaded the images and add them on pages where it belongs. I will reedit it later to make it look better, but for now i will take a short break and watch Soccer on TV. ^^ Paco (talk) 16:06, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Elnard monsters images[edit]

Hi Paco. Feel free to download and modify the images as I upload them on Strategywiki. I like a dark background on them, though. --Abacos (talk) 18:10, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

I never used Mediafire. But if you wait a couple days, when I'm finished uploading all the images you can simply save the webpage on your PC and then open the saved file folder with all the images. Let me try something to change the cell color; any suggestion? --Abacos (talk) 18:33, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
I finished uploading all the enemy images I have, although I miss two (a good reason for replaying the video game). --Abacos (talk) 11:14, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Good job! I just changed Gorsia's background: I think that black fits better with him. I'll remember to write file extensions in small capitals, I simpy thought until now that it was not important. --Abacos (talk) 10:26, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Lists[edit]

Hi Paco, I don't know if you noticed with {{DW3enemy}}, but I embedded "id" tags for the titles. In other lists you need to do this manually. Many fields (div, span, table) in HTML/CSS accept the use of syntax like: id="title" where title is whatever you want. The ID can then be linked by making a link to the page and adding #title, like Dragon Warrior III/Enemies#Divinegon. So, on Illusion of Gaia/Items these IDs should exist as well. I've made an edit to show you how to do it. See Illusion of Gaia/Items#Statue of Hope (note that page length affects the usability of this feature, but it is still helpful so people don't have to scroll to the bottom). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:27, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Duplicates[edit]

Hi Paco, when you mark a page for deletion and the reason is duplicate, can you put a link to the duplicate? I like to double check before I delete, and it would save me time/enable me to get more done if I had to do less. =) Thank you for all of your hard work! You're awesome! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:59, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

okeydokey. i will do it next time i found one. Thanks, but you also work alot too. ^^ Paco (talk) 17:06, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
Thanks :] For URLs, just use single brackets. Double bracket ([[) means inter-wiki link. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:05, 3 September 2012 (UTC)

Ultima 5 guide[edit]

Hi. I just cleared Ultima 5 and got to the end of the walkthrough. Can you give me some suggestion to bring the guide firmly to Completion Stage 3? I created the guide and am the main contributor, but right now I think I need some feedback --Abacos (talk) 11:37, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

Level 1 headers[edit]

We never use =Single equal sign headers= on our pages, as these "level 1" headers conflict with our view that the page title is level 1. See this diff. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:14, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

I wasn't sure what to do with it so i just made it Level 1 Header and deciced to leave it for later after i'm done uploading pics for the game and checking PW:AA (the first Game of the Series) Star-Guide for referrence what to do there. Paco (talk) 17:53, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
If it's an actual section, it should be a header. If it's just a quote or a subtitle, just put it like I did at the top. It doesn't really need formatting but I made it stand out so it was more like part of the header. I used an alternate form for the Blood Omen 2 guide; see Blood Omen 2/Chapter Three: The Lower City for an example of a subtitle (it's in quotes at the top). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:06, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

[MapleStory]

{{-}}[edit]

We've generally followed the convention that this goes on its own line. To me it looks a bit cleaner that way as it's more of a layout thing than part of a paragraph. -- Prod (talk) 03:26, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Please put it on a new line. It is easier to read the code if we do that. Thanks Paco! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:36, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Admin guide[edit]

Please review StrategyWiki:Guide/Admin guide if you haven't yet. Much of the bigger sections are less important unless you need to perform those tasks. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:27, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Ace Attorney Investigations[edit]

Thanks for cleaning up the guide pages, I'm not very experienced at writing linear walkthroughs so it's great help. Also, can you let me do the initial writeups for the case walkthroughs? It's just that the thing with these visual novel type games is that multiple editors must be at the same stage of the game if they're working on the walkthrough at the same time, so I'm worried I might fall behind if you already finished case 2 and started the case 3 walkthrough, and I do want to help finish the guide. I might not be able to contribute anything now but I will try to add more to the guide next Tuesday after my finals are complete. T.testLP(talk) 05:11, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

No problem. I will cleanup 2 pages and then leave it to you to continue writing. Until then i will start preparing pics for all Cases. Paco (talk) 09:10, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

Greenfig log; Definition of "Dialect"[edit]

Hi Paco, thanks for helping with the misspellings project. Greenfig lists a lot of them! I noticed you put "part of dialect" for some of the notes, like for "wanna". I've corrected this note because dialect is the wrong word. A dialect is a regional difference in language. For example, in the U.S., the different regions all speak English but their dialects have different accents, slang, names (e.g. pop versus soda), and expressions. A dialogue is a conversation, which we sometimes quote from games. I hope you understand. =) --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:15, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts II[edit]

Just to let you know, five world pages in Kingdom Hearts II need images, as the party are transformed in them:

  • Timeless River
  • Atlantica
  • Halloween Town
  • Pride Lands
  • Space Paranoids

Oh, and The Grid of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Would you like me to provide you the source of the image locations? (They're copyrighted, though). UxieLover1994 12:59, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Uxie, we cannot allow "copyrighted" images or watermarked images. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 21:17, 23 October 2012 (UTC)
That I can understand. But how can we show people the party's forms in certain worlds? UxieLover1994 13:34, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
You'll have to take your own screenshots. You can get a TV tuner device that lets you record video from your TV to your PC, such as one of the devices listed here at Newegg. Be careful; these are always an investment and often are difficult to get working correctly. You have to have a good computer to run them well. Alternatively, you could break the law and emulate the game and take screenshots that way. --15:15, 24 October 2012 (UTC)

AAIME Argument Template[edit]

As you know, we've been using Template:Phoenix Wright Testimony for most of the confrontation scenes in Ace Attorney Investigations, though I think that it is not appropriate in some situations. For example, there are a lot of parts where Edgeworth has to argue with another investigator about the chain of events, so something like "Shi-Long Lang's Testimony" is incorrect when Agent Lang is presenting his theory about why a murder happened. Should we create a new template specifically for these scenarios or do we just use the old template? T.testLP(talk) 05:51, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Created Template:Miles Edgeworth Argument with the color swapped to differ between Testimony and Argument, but if you want to use other color than Blue and Red (likd Green perhaps?), go ahead and edit it. I will recheck all pages up until now and replace those with the new template, so you don't neeed to worry about it and continue writing. ^^ Thanks for bringing it up. Paco (talk) 11:20, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Alternatively, we can combine the templates using parameters. Or, for simplicity, since you already created a new one, we can use parameters to control the color, if you want them to vary or come up with a color scheme that means something. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:33, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for creating the template and inserting it to all the pages that needs it. As for template parameters, either is fine. I actually like the color palette, as the colors are inverted, which can symbolise Phoenix stepping down from the limelight and letting Edgeworth to shine. T.testLP(talk) 13:01, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Shortened links[edit]

Hi Paco, so I watching the changes to Chrono Trigger you made. I'm all for reducing the amount of characters we have saved on a page, but we haven't really made using the "../" syntax our priority. I think it would be better if you didn't do that. We'd have to bring up the discussion again, which probably wouldn't get much of a response if we tried, but I think its just confusing to new contributors. The ../ is a technical syntax that only programmers and linux users are accustomed to, and the less we force people to learn, the happier they will be with using the site. What do you think? You don't need to revert your changes. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:19, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

For deleting all those useless images... if only we had a mass-delete feature :( --Skizzerz 18:54, 26 December 2012 (UTC)
