Passwords
Metroid was filled with odd codes, as all but one of them were hard-coded into the game.
Enter all these at the password screen.

Start at the beginning with suitless Samus, and:
- Weapons: Wave Beam, Screw Attack
- Energy Tanks = 6 (empty) / Missiles = 216
- NOTE: Use a ZERO in the word B0MB, not an 'O.'
