Big Brain Academy puts you into an academy where you have different classes to complete. Instead of a brain age though, it is your brain weight that is measured and recorded. Dr. Lobe is the headmaster of the academy and guides you through the game. A sequel, Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, was released for the Wii in 2007.

Classes
There are three different classes in Big Brain Academy: test, practice and versus. These can be accessed as soon as you've registered a profile.
* Test: The test consists of one randomly picked activity from each of the five categories. Each activity takes 60 seconds. At the end of the test you'll be given a brain age, brain type and grade. Grades range from A+ to F- and are displayed next to your name in the homeroom.
* Practice: Practicing lets you work on activities at steady pace. It can improve you at activities where you're having trouble. Each activity has three difficulty levels: easy, normal and hard. You can get medals in each of these activities and levels.
** Brain Weight: 050; Medal: Bronze
** Brain Weight: 150; Medal: Silver
** Brain Weight: 250; Medal: Gold
* Versus: You can compete against friends to see who has the biggest brain. Questions are asked and the first player to guess correctly gets 10 grammes added onto their brain weight. If you miss a question, the game subtracts grammes from your score. The first to reach 300 grammes is the winner, other you can set a different target weight. The results screen will show who is  the winner. This mode is for 2-8 players only.
