Whips

These are the different whips that can be found or purchased throughout the land. Once you pick one up you discard the old one; it can not be re-equipped later or sold. Each whip is twice as powerful as the previous one.

Normal Whip Thorn Whip

You begin the game with this whip, also known as the Vampire Killer. It does one point of damage to any enemy you strike.

You can purchase this whip in the Town of Jova, where you begin the game, for 100 hearts. It's twice as powerful as the normal whip, but you may wish to skip this whip in favor of the Chain whip.
Chain Whip Morning Star

You can purchase this whip in the Town of Veros, to the right of Jova, for 150 hearts. It is four times more powerful than the normal whip, and only 50 hearts more expensive than the Thorn Whip.

It will take you a while to reach this whip, which is sold in the Town of Oldon beyond the river to the left of Jova. It costs 200 hearts and does eight times the damage of the normal whip.
Flame Whip

This is the most powerful whip in the game, causing 15 times the damage that the normal whip is capable of. It's free if you have the Morning Star and can find the person beyond Deborah Cliffs who offers it to you.

Weapons

Weapons can be found or purchased all around, and you are not limited to carrying only one at a time. You have unlimited usage of a few, most notably the holy water, however most of the stronger ones cost hearts per use.

Weapon Location Cost Use Effect Notes
File:Castlevania SQ item-dagger.gif Dagger Town of Veros 50 Hearts 0 Hearts Throws a dagger a short distance. Goes a bit further than the whip, making it very useful for getting at enemies on platforms.
File:Castlevania SQ item-diamond.gif Diamond Near Town of Aldora -- 1 Heart A large diamond shoots out and bounces around the scree. Optional, but very useful and worth the trip to get.
File:Castlevania SQ item-dagger (gold).gif Gold Dagger Braham Mansion -- 2 Hearts Upgraded form of the Silver Dagger, defeat Death to get. Best range and power of the three daggers; worth the fight.
File:Castlevania SQ item-holy water.gif Holy Water Town of Jova 50 Hearts 0 Hearts Throws a vial of holy water a few feet in front of you. Basically what the holy water weapon is in most other Castlevania games. Breaks bricks and is free. Absolutely essential.
File:Castlevania SQ item-sacred flame.gif Sacred Flame Dabi's Path -- 1 Heart A fireball is thrown a few feet in front of you, creating a vertical column of fire. Not particularly useful as a weapon, but the mansions are next to impossible without it, as you use it to detect fake floors. Also used to destroy blocks to get to secret items and shortcuts.
File:Castlevania SQ item-dagger (silver).gif Silver Dagger Aljiba Graveyard -- 1 Heart Throw a dagger across the entire screen. The same as the dagger, but with better range. Use garlic in the graveyard to get.

Parts

Consumable items

Unlike most other items, these items can only be used once. You will need several of each over the course of the game. Both the garlic and laurels can be purchased in the towns of Aljiba and Aldora. It doesn't matter which town you buy them in, as both places charge 50 hearts for a set of two. The oak stakes can be purchased in any of the mansions, usually near the end, for 50 hearts a piece.
