Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (東方紅魔郷 Touhou Koumakyou?, Eastern Scarlet Devil Land) is a vertical-scrolling shooter and the sixth official installment of the Touhou series. It is the first to be released specifically for the Windows OS.
During the summer, the skies of Gensōkyō suddenly fill with thick scarlet mist. With the sun blocked out, these magical lands are now devoid of light and warmth. The protagonists set out to find the culprit and clear the skies of this mysterious fog.
In this game, two playable characters are available:
- Reimu Hakurei, the Eternal Shrine Maiden.
- Marisa Kirisame, the Oriental Western Magician.
