The Mercenaries is a score attack mode which is unlocked when you complete the game. To begin with, only two characters and one level will be available, but others can be unlocked by achieving sufficiently high scores.

Your rank on any level is awarded based on the number of points you score. In a Duo (co-op) game, both players' combined scores are counted for the rank.
Depending on the rank awarded, you will receive a number of Exchange Points to spend on Bonus Features.

This stage is already unlocked at the start. That's the location from the chapter 1-1.
The Mines

That's from chapter 2-2 but now lighted up.
Village

- Majini (Wetland), Giant Majini, Bui Kichwa and Flying Plagas.
This is the Village from chapter 3-1. Flash grenades are useful, because it kills Bui Kichwa and the Flying Plagas instantly.
Ancient Ruins

That's the location from the chapter 4-2.
Experimental Facility

- Majini (Base), Lickers
The first map that is not in the main game. Using Stun Rod and Rocket Launcher works well against Majini and after sometime only Lickers will spawn.
Missile Area

- Majini (Base), Gattling Gun Majini and Cephalo.
It is the location from chapter 5-2.
Ship Deck
- Enemies
- Majini (Town), Chainsaw Majini (Red and Blue), Big Man Majini and Cephalo.
It's the starting deck from chapter 6-1.
Prison

- Executioner Majini (Red), Majini (Town) and Big Man Majini.
It doesn't appears in the main game. Shotguns, Proximity Bombs, Hand Grenades are useful in this Stage. The new enemy is the Executioner Majini that is very hard to kill. The best tactic is shooting his plaga weakpoint at his back with a powerful Weapon (Magnums, Shotguns, Snipers)
