The Touhou Project (JP: 東方Project), often simply called Touhou by fans, is a series consisting primarily of bullet hell games. It was created by ZUN (real name: 太田順也 Oota Jun'ya) but released under the name of Team Shanghai Alice and, on occasion, is co-developed with the circle Twilight Frontier, also known as Tasofro. As of right now, the series contains 32 installments, 19 of which are main games, making the remaining 13 spinoffs. The first five installments were available on the NEC PC-9801 and released under the name of ZUN Soft, and all future games have been made available for Windows, with some of them seeing console releases. Ever since the release of the Hidden Star in Four Seasons demo on Steam on November 15, 2017, a majority of the games have become easily accessible to players outside of Japan.
