This is a very particular level. You will have to walk down a long dark corridor, mostly floorless. In order to orient yourself you will have to collect Aku Aku's masks, which in this level work differently than usual. Once you have collected a mask, it will follow you and illuminate the surrounding area for a certain period of time. You will then have to hurry through the level by jumping on the floating platforms to reach a new Aku Aku chest before the previous mask goes out. Along the way you will encounter some enemies and hanging blades: avoid getting hit or Aku Aku's mask will go off and you will be left in the dark. There are no bonus rounds.
Getting the gem[edit]
Passing this level by breaking all the boxes and without losing lives you will be rewarded with the purple gem, but in order to do so you must first have obtained the yellow gem from The Lab. Shortly before the end you will find the gem, that will lead you on the top of a tower, where you will find the last boxes and another exit portal.
