Thieves can be a great help for your clan if you're desperate for gil or in a financial crisis. With their abilities that can steal gil, items or loots they can help you. They have good speed and evasion but the other stats are average. This is also required to have the Ninja job with the incredible Dual Wield ability that allows you to equip two one-handed weapons. For a Hume to become a Thief, they need to have mastered one Arts of War A-Ability.

Usage[edit]

Thieves aren't extremely useful except for the fact that it takes mastery of four Thievery A-Abilities for a Hume to become a Ninja. The loot moves are great for speeding up the process of acquiring new items from the bazaar, and the Thief class is the only way to learn Counter for Humes and Moogles. The Steal abilities have varying degrees of usefulness, with Steal Items being the least useful.

Steal Limelight[edit]

This move is very useful if your Thief has the ability to summon a Scion. By using Steal Limelight, you can greatly decrease the time it takes to fill up enough of your Smash Gauge for an attack. You can also use it on a teammate if enemies are out of reach.

Steal Gil[edit]

Unlike Mug Gil, this will not deal damage in addition to taking Gil. Keep in mind that higher level enemies generally have more gil, so you may want to have this move handy for missions like "Red King of Cinqleur," where there is one high-level boss.
