The overhead map of the San Marinan track.

The San Marinan track is located in the bottom-left corner of the track selection screen, so if you are using MAME to play the game but have not held "9" and pressed "F2" to calibrate the steering, you can't select it; its timer again starts at 60 seconds.

When that timer has appeared upon the screen and is counting down from "03" to "00", you should be in low gear with the gas pedal fully down; as you accelerate away from that starting line, and pass a grandstand for JVC upon that left side of the track, along with two billboards for Toyota and Casio on the right side of the track, you should shift into high gear at about 100 km/h, then turn to the left as you pass eight trees on both sides of the track, and a third billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-west on it on the right side of the track. You will then pass three more trees, a fourth billboard for Agip, and an orange mobile crane on that right side of the track, and eleven more trees and two more orange mobile cranes on both sides of the track, before passing under a bridge for Agip (this is its second appearance on this track) - and you will then have to turn to the left, as you pass a fifth billboard for Nippondenso/Mobil 1 upon that right side of the track, two more billboards for Subaru on the left side of the track, four more trees on both sides of the track, and two more billboards with an arrow pointing in a left U-turn on them on both sides of the track. You will then pass a fourth orange mobile crane and twelve stacks of red and white tyres on that right side of the track, along with two more grandstands, two more trees, and five chain-link fences on the left side of the track, and passing two more billboards for Pioneer on both sides of the track, before passing under another bridge for Nissan; you then have to turn to the left again as you pass a twelfth billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-west on it, two more trees, a thirteenth billboard which has the arrow pointing to that north-west on it, two more stacks of red and white tyres, a fourteenth billboard for Bobson/Nippondenso (as with Agip, this is the latter's second appearance upon this track) and two more trees on the left side of the track. You will then have to turn to the right, as you pass a fifteenth billboard with an arrow pointing to the curved north-east on it on the left side of the track and six more trees upon both sides of the track - and you will then have to turn to the right again as you pass a sixteenth billboard which has an arrow pointing to the north-east on it and four more trees on the left side of the track. You will then pass a lookout tower (as with those of the English and French tracks, it has a forty-third tree and a loudspeaker behind it) and five more chain-link fences on that right side of the track, and two more trees and a seventeenth billboard with an arrow pointing to the curved north-east on it on that left side of the track, before passing under a third bridge for Renault; you will then have to turn to the right as you pass an eighteenth billboard for Citizen on that right side of the track, and three more trees on both sides of the track, before passing under a fourth bridge for Pirelli. You will then have to turn to the left, as you pass a nineteenth billboard for Epson on that right side of the track, a fourth grandstand upon that left side of the track, two more trees on that right side of the track, and two more billboards with an arrow pointing to the north-west on them on both sides of the track - and you will then pass three more stacks of red and white tyres, a twenty-second billboard for Nippondenso/Mobil 1 (this is the former's 3rd and that latter's 2nd appearance upon this track), a twenty-third billboard for Autopolis/Nippondenso (this is that latter's fourth appearance on this track), three more stacks of red and white tyres, a twenty-fourth billboard for EniChem (the symbol of which is identical to that of Agip), and a twenty-fifth billboard for that aforementioned Agip (this is its 3rd appearance on this track) on the right side of the track, before passing under a fourth bridge for Bridgestone. You now have to turn to the right as you pass a twenty-sixth billboard which has an arrow pointing to the curved north-east on it on that left side of the track, five more chain-link fences and five blocks of flats for Pirelli (these are its second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth appearances on this track) upon the right side of the track and two more grandstands for JVC (these are its second and third appearances on this track), before passing under a fourth bridge for Nissan (as with Mobil 1, this is its second appearance on this track); as in the English and French tracks, once you have completed a lap of the track, the text "TIME EXTENDED LAP TIME XX.XX" will flash up on the screen (again, "XX.XX" being your lap time) and you will gain 35 additional seconds of time in which to complete another lap of it. Once you have completed four laps of the track, a second woman will wave a chequered flag in front of your car, as it races off into the distance - and the text "OFFICIAL RESULT" will then appear on the screen, with your position (1st-8th) below it. Your distance travelled in metres, your number of laps, your fastest lap time, and your ranking will then be displayed below that; if your total time was less than 2:38:44 (which is more than the minimal total times of 2:29:91 for the English track and 2:31:92 for the French track), the game will go into "best-time" mode, so you should enter your initials (once again, you can only enter up to three characters like the four tables from the second game allowed, as opposed to five) on the San Marinan table with pride. Once you have done it, the game will go back into attract mode.
