The overhead map of the Spanish track.

The Spanish track is located in the bottom-right of the track selection screen, so if you are using MAME to play the game but have not held "9" and pressed "F2" to calibrate the steering, you will still be able to select it; its timer will start at 60 seconds.

When that counter has appeared on the screen and is counting down from "03" to "00", you should be in low gear with the gas pedal fully down; as you accelerate away from that starting line and pass two grandstands for Shoei/Pioneer on the right side of the track, four blocks of flats for Pirelli on the left side of the track, a billboard for Epson on that right side of the track, a fifth block of flats for Pirelli (this is its fifth appearance upon this track) upon the left side of the track, another billboard for Citizen upon that right side of the track, and three more grandstands for Shoei/Pioneer (these are their third, fourth and fifth appearances on this track) on the right side of the track, you should shift into high gear at about 100 km/h, then turn to the right as you pass a third billboard with an arrow pointing to the zigzagging north-east on it, a tree, and a fourth billboard for Autopolis/Nippondenso on the left side of the track. You will then have to turn to the right again as you pass four more trees on the right side of the track, and a fifth billboard which has an arrow pointing to the north-east on it on that left side of the track, before passing under a bridge for: Bridgestone - and you then have to turn to the right once again as you pass a sixth billboard for Tamiya/JVC/Mazda, a sixth tree, a seventh billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it, four barriers, two more trees and two more billboards for Subaru on the left side of the track, and a tenth billboard for Agip on the right side of the track. You will then have to turn to the left as you pass an eleventh billboard which has an arrow pointing in a right U-turn on it, an orange mobile crane, and a sixth grandstand on the left side of the track; you then have to turn to the left again as you pass three more trees on both sides of the track, and a twelfth billboard with an arrow pointing in a left U-turn on it, a thirteenth billboard for Kodak Film, a twelfth tree, a thirteenth billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-west on it and a fourteenth billboard for Nippondenso/Mobil 1 (this is the latter's second appearance on this track) on the right side of the track. You will then have to turn to the left once again as you pass a thirteenth tree on the left side of the track, and a fifteenth billboard which has the arrow pointing to the curved north-west on it and two more trees on that right side of the track, before passing under another bridge for Renault - and you then have to turn to the right as you pass a sixteenth billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it on the left side of the track and a seventeenth billboard for EniChem (the symbol for which is identical to that of Agip) on the right side of the track. You now have to turn to the right again as you pass an eighteenth billboard with an arrow pointing to the curved north-east upon it and two more trees on the left side of the track, along with a red viewing staircase for Pirelli (which has six more barriers in front of it and a eighteenth tree behind it) on the right side of the track; you will then have to turn to the left, as you pass a nineteenth billboard for Pirelli (this is its fifth appearance on this track) on the left side of the track, and a nineteenth tree and a twentieth billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-west on it upon the right side of the track. You then have to turn to the right as you pass three more trees upon the right side of the track, and a twenty-first billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-west on it and a seventh grandstand on the left side of the track - and you then have to turn to the right again as you pass two more grandstands and a twenty-second billboard with an arrow pointing to the north-east on it upon the left side of the track before passing under a third bridge for Pirelli (this is its sixth appearance on the track). You will now have to turn to the right once again as you pass a twenty-third billboard for Toyota upon the left side of the track, and a lookout tower (which has a twenty-third tree and loudspeaker behind it) on that right side of the track, along with a twenty-fourth billboard with the arrow pointing to the north-east on it, two more trees, and a twenty-fifth billboard for Kodak Film (like Nippondenso, this is its second appearance on this track) on that left side of the track; you will then pass a twenty-sixth billboard for Agip (as with Nippondenso and Kodak Film, this is its second appearance on this track) and another red viewing staircase for Pirelli (this is its seventh appearance upon this track) on the right side of the track before passing under a fourth bridge for Renault (as with Nippondenso and Kodak Film, this is the second one on this track). You will now pass a tenth grandstand upon the left side of the track - and as in the English, French and San Marinan tracks, once you have completed a full lap of the track, the text "TIME EXTENDED LAP TIME XX.XX" will flash up on the screen (yet again, "XX.XX" being your lap time) and you will gain 35 extra seconds of racing time in which to complete another lap of it. Also like the English, French and San Marinan tracks, once you have completed four laps of the track, another woman will wave a chequered flag in front of your car as it races off into the distance; the text of "OFFICIAL RESULT" will then appear upon the screen with your position (1st-8th) below it. Your distance travelled (in metres), number of laps, fastest lap time and ranking will then be displayed below that - and if your total time was less than 2:43:38 (which is more than the minimal total time of 2:29:91 for the English track, 2:31:92 for the French track, and 2:38:44 for the San Marinan track) the game will go into "best-time" mode, so you should enter your initials upon the Spanish table with pride. Once you have done it, the game will go back into attract mode; all four tracks have now been explained here, so you should decide which one is best for you.
