Postman Pat 2 Phew, What a Scorcher title screen (ZX Spectrum).png

You shall first have to connect your Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC or Commodore 64 and cassette recorder to your television, then switch all three of them on; you will then have to go to put the cassette of Alternative Software's Enigma Variations-developed 1989 action game, Postman Pat 2: Phew, What a Scorcher into the recorder, type LOAD "" (without leaving a space between the quotation marks!), and press Enter to load the program into the console. In the ZX and CPC versions, you will now have to press either A for keyboard control, B for Kempston joystick control (if connected) or C for Interface II joystick control (again, if connected) - and in the C64 version, you'll just have to press the button on the joystick in order to start the game. In all three versions, however, you will then have to press either E or H to select "easy" or "hard" mode (in "easy" mode, Pat only has 25 letters, but for "hard" mode, he has 50); the gameplay is similar to that of Softek International and The Edge's Garfield: Big, Fat, Hairy Deal (1988), only with a map.
