The first portion of this stage is not as linear as most of the game has been. You begin near the lower left corner, and you need to hunt for the key, which could be in a number of places. It's typically found in the upper left corner, but not necessarily. This walkthrough will break the stage down into different sections.

Getting started
To the left of where you get started is a lady with a green floating peach nearby. The lady just offers advice, but there is a lemon hidden in the wall behind her if you have fist power. Return to the right, and defeat the one-eyed yokais as you approach the steps. A red plant will pop up with a bone thrower standing behind it. A few blue Onis may approach as well. Continue until you see some pillars overhead. If you continue straight ahead, you can fall through the gap to section below where doors C and B are found. If you leap over the gap, you wind up walking toward the other door C. There's actually a way to cut a tunnel to the lower right corner of the map, but only if you happen to have full fist power.

Instead, climb the pillars, and hop off on the ledge to the right. There you'll find door A. Inside door A is a shop keeper. If you didn't pick up the level 5 staff upgrade from the previous stage, you can do so here. From door A, the exit to the next section of the stage is to the right. However, you'll need to find the key first. Look in the upper left corner first.
Upper left corner
From door A, hop onto the floating cloud to the left, and ride it over to the very small pink platforms. Once you hop on the third platform, which happens to be the highest, fall straight down the left side, and you'll land on another platform below with door B. Door B actually happens to cycle through three doors. The first time you take it, it will take you up (which is where you should be), but if you enter in it again, it will bring you to the door B on the bottom. Stay in the upper area, and watch out for the pink and green floating peaches that greet you.
Head to the right, and watch out for a red plant which pops up before a set of spikes. Jump over the spikes to the pillars beyond, and then quickly climb up and attack the bone thrower on the ledge to the right. Then jump back to the highest pillar and leap over to the floating cloud on the left. Ride it over to the next floating platforms, watching out for the spinning coin overhead. You'll have to take out a totem when you land on the ledge. As you head left, you'll approach a POW, but touching it won't eliminate every enemy on the screen. While it does damage to some enemies, it will make others appear from nearby pots, so be careful. It's possible that the key can be found in one of the pots around this area. Clear away the enemies and examine each pot, but watch out for darumas which may appear from the pots.
Upper right corner
If you didn't find the key in the upper left corner, or if you simply wish to explore, remain in this upper area and return to the right. Jump along the floating platforms, and cross the ledge where the bone thrower is patrolling. Head to the right side, and you'll see some cloud platforms. Most of these (but not all) will drop when you step on them so be prepared to jump off as they fall. Keep going until you see three pots guarded by a spinning coin, with door D behind them. The key could be in one of these pots. Then visit door D, but be aware that when you leave the area inside, you will be returned to door A in the center of the map. Behind door D, you'll find Sagojo, who offers you one of three items, but you only have a chance to win them, you don't automatically get them. It's as if he flips a coin after you choose to see if you win. The three items he offers are a Yashichi, a scroll or a gourd. If you have a gourd, choose the Yashichi. If you don't have a gourd and your health meter is almost as long as it can get, choose the gourd.
Lower right corner
To access the lower right corner, you'll actually want to return to the ledge where the bone thrower awaits near the top, and then start hopping across the dropping cloud platforms. It's best to head all the way to where door D is, and then fall off the left side of the ledge, pushing right as you fall. You'll land on a ledge with large heart on it. Below is a spinning coin, and a ledge with a bone thrower to the left and a red Patapata bat to the right. Drop down and carefully deal with each of them. In one of the pots on the left side, you'll find a red fist. Collect it and return to the right. Drop down, and hug the left side to land in an alcove, but be careful. The two pots closest to the edge both contain darumas.
Drop down through the clouds below, and you'll see a bone thrower on the left, and an Amajin on the right. There are two POWs on the ground, and they should both be enough to remove those enemies. A red Patapata bat awaits on the right. If you still haven't found a key, it may be in the pots down here, but the far right pot has a daruma. You'll have to head through door E to escape. On the other sideof door E are four floating peaches and two 500 Zenny lemons. Remove the peaches carefully, collect the fruit and then return through the door, which deposits you in front of door A in the center of the map.

From door A, hop on the floating platform to the left, over the five small pink platforms, and land on the ledge to the left below the spinning coin. The locked door to the next section can be found here.

This section, unlike the previous, is a lot more linear. Fight the Amajin to the right, and then ride the rising platform to the next ledge. The pot closer to the spikes has a bone thrower hiding inside. Jump over the spikes, and watch out for the floating green peach. Another Amajin is waiting for you as you cross to the right. When you reach the steps, a blue daruma will approach you. Attack it or avoid it, and begin climbing up the pillars that you see.

Follow the pillars up and back to the left, and watch out for the spinning coin. Continue left, and you will find a bone thrower guarding the key. Defeat him and collect the key. If you have any fist power, you'll probably discover a hidden watermelon in the wall while fighting the bone thrower. Then return to the right and drop down. Watch out for another blue daruma below.

Resume heading to the right, and you'll see another set of pillars. It's not worth exploring the region to the right, as it only leads to a lemon. It's recommended that you climb up the pillars and hop off to the right. A one-eyed yokai will attack just when you discover a shop keeper. If you haven't maxed out your health meter yet, definitely purchase the yashichi. Beyond the shop keeper, continue to the right by riding the rising cloud platforms. However, before you jump over to the locked door, consider falling to the right and hugging the wall to discover door F. Inside, you'll find a blue daruma, along with fruit and pots. There are also two hidden objects in the wall. When you exit, you'll have no choice but to fall down, and collect a lemon. From there, you must walk back to the pillars on the left, fighting a blue Patapata bat, a blue oni, and a totem pole in the process. Return to the rising cloud platforms, and this time, jump over to the ledge with the locked door.

When you step inside, you'll be transported to a corridor where red plants grow from the ceiling. You aren't required to fight them, but you will want to clear the two Amajin out of the way as you cross to the right. These Amajin may even leave behind gourds when defeated. Beyond them, you'll find Cho Hakkai, who demands the truth from you. You can say yes or no. Either way, you'll get the key to the next door, but if you say no, he'll take all of your Zenny as well.

Boss: Rasetsu[edit]

Rasetsu is a woman with a large green iron fan. She doesn't move about, but she teleports from one position to another. Wherever she materializes, she will attack in one of two ways. The first way is to swing her fan and send a rush of wind in your direction. If this wind touches you, it will grab you and send you flying back to the wall. It is entirely possible to jump over these gusts of wind. The other attack is a large ball of fire which she throws in the air. It will explode into a burst of particles that is impossible to escape unless you run far to either side. If you manage to attack her as soon as she appears, there's a chance she won't attack, and will immediately start to teleport somewhere else. Your goal should be to attack her as quickly as possible before she has a chance to attack you, but be prepared to react to the wind or fire if she does. Keep hit her until she explodes into a collection of fruits and vegetables.
