Microsoft Windows and Mac OS[edit]

Stupid Invaders opening cutscene (Microsoft Windows).png

Once you have inserted the first disc for Ubisoft Entertainment's Xilam Animation-developed 2000 adventure game, Stupid Invaders, into the CD drive of your Microsoft Windows (95 and 98 only, for it crashes on 2000 or later) or Mac OS computer, it should run automatically; if it does not, you must run the game manually through either the desktop or Start menu shortcut created by its Setup program. After the Ubisoft and Xilam logos have been shown, the game's name shall be displayed on the screen, and fade out as the opening cutscene, which shows the aliens' spaceship crash-landing on Earth, starts:

Gorgious:
Way to go Candy...
so whadda we do now, steal a bicycle?
Etno:
Okay gentlemen please try to remain calm.
Guys, don't get excited, it's not serious...
We're going to hide in this abandoned house
while I repair the spaceship.
It'll only take a few minutes...

A FEW YEARS LATER...

Dr. Sakarin:
300,000,000 dollars een small beels...
ze otter half on delivery of zoze terrible leetle creatures.
Unt I vant ze spaceship too.
Don't disappoint me Polok,
ozervize it's you I cut een halv!
Bolok:
I am a professional.

The spelling mistakes in Dr. Sakarin's dialogue are also accurate; once the screen has faded out, the game will proceed to the main menu shown above, which features the plunger-wielding Bud (the mouse's cursor also takes on the appearance of a foot). Move the cursor over one of the four options (Play which starts a new game, Load Game which lets you load one of up to 27 previously saved games, Settings which lets you change the volume, subtitle and colour settings, and Quit which lets you return to Windows or Mac OS) to select it, indicated by its letters splitting up, then click on it to confirm your choice - and once you choose Play, the game shall proceed to the opening cutscene for The Abandoned House (whose address is 768 White Oak Rd).

Sega Dreamcast[edit]

After the Ubisoft and Xilam logos have been shown in the Sega Dreamcast version (along with the opening cutscene), the title screen shown above will appear as the text "PRESS START BUTTON" flashes up on it; once you've pressed Start button, the game will proceed to the main menu (only you will have to use the analog thumb pad or D-Pad to select one of the four options with the cursor, then press A button to confirm it). This version also has a "mono/stereo" setting, instead of a "colour" one - and in some copies of it, the "Quit" option (which lets you return to the title screen, an action that it is also possible to perform by pressing all five buttons on the controller simultaneously) is replaced by a "Credits" one (which lets you watch the credits sequence, without having to finish the game). In order to save and load games in this version, a Dreamcast VMU must also be inserted into the controller's first expansion slot; without one, you will have no choice but to complete the game in one sitting, as well as restart it from the beginning if you should get a game-over.
