Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello H rytter! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or visit the IRC channel to chat, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:56, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Image size preferences[edit]

Hi, you can adjust the default size for images with the thumbnail parameter, such as the Medli image you adjusted, by going to http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Special:Preferences and then the Appearance tab. Change "Thumbnail size" to 150px if you'd like. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:06, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

I always now how to do that. Thats why i can find the preferences even in Muppet Wiki. Thats why i'm also the admin in wikia too.--H rytter (talk) 19:08, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
I see. Thanks for your help. In the future, please do not add the size parameter to images using the thumbnail parameter, as per this line in our guide:
"{width}px: Resizes the image to the given width in pixels. Note that use of this option is discouraged for thumbnailed images, as it means people can't specify the thumbnail size they want to view in their preferences."
Thank you, --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:00, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
I know but i didn't want the images to be too large but thanks.--H rytter (talk) 20:02, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Adding whitespace or more content is the only alternative, unfortunately, see Template:-. Nice screenshots, btw. I hope you can help improve our SSBB guide, considerably. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:05, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh, one more thing: use "File:" instead of "Image:" when adding images. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:06, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Image categorization[edit]

Thanks for the screenshots. Please throw two categories on your images, so I don't have to:

  • one for the game (e.g. [[Category:Super Smash Bros. Melee images]])
  • one for the type (e.g. [[Category:Screenshots]])

See this for more info: StrategyWiki:Images#Image categories. I'll help clean up your existing images. Thanks! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 23:08, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Please do what NMH said and add at last 2 Categories for every images you uploaded. Paco (talk) 14:26, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Preload buttons[edit]

The preload buttons.

In order to keep pages on the wiki neat and uniform, we employ certain formatting and templates to help us accomplish this. When creating a new page, please use one of the preload buttons located above the edit text box, which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. Thanks for keeping the wiki organized! — Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:04, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Reminder, if you are starting a new page, please click the "Guide page" button in order to ensure that the proper header and footer navs are added to the page. Thank you. Procyon

Easier editing[edit]

The Show preview button (right next to the Save page button) lets you see how your changes will look before saving the page. You can use Show preview as many times as you like until you get the page how you want it. You can also edit the whole page at one time, as opposed to by section, by clicking the Edit tab at the top of the page. Hopefully these little shortcuts will make it easier for you to get the desired result when you're editing, and save you a little time. Thanks for working on the wiki! — Procyon 01:27, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
