Preload buttons[edit]

Here's what the buttons look like.

Hi, please use the preload buttons located above the edit text box when creating a new page. These buttons will insert the needed templates and formatting for you, which helps keep uniformity across the wiki. — najzereT 19:57, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Also, where are you getting the information that Power Stone was released on the GameCube? I don't find it listed as such on Wikipedia or GameFAQs. — najzereT 19:57, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi, please don't remove the {{Header Nav}} and {{Footer Nav}} templates when editing the page. Thanks, — najzereT 20:59, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Fighting games[edit]

We have a somewhat complicated setup when it comes to fighting games. Take a look at Street Fighter IV to see how the ToC is set up as well as the character pages. Basically, we put move lists at "Game Name/Character Name", then transclude that page into both the character page (at "Game Name/Characters/Character Name") and one big move list for the whole game (at "Game Name/Moves"). For templates to use in your move lists, take a look at Category:Move list templates. Lastly, the basic controls and gameplay elements are usually combined into one "How to play" (Walkthrough) page. Let me know if you need any help with setting everything up like a standard fighting game guide. — najzereT 22:19, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I made a moves list table for Falcon at Power Stone/Falcon to give you an example. The main thing to remember is that the {{Header Nav}} should be between <noinclude> tags so it's not transcluded into the character page and moves list page. Cheers, — najzereT 15:59, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

How is Power Stone not like other fighting games? -- Prod (Talk) 00:40, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

I can actually defend that position a little bit. Unlike Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, Power Stone's moves aren't dependent upon a combination of joystick motions and buttons. Instead they are conditional upon the state of the character. Changing a character's state makes the character perform different actions. The buttons don't change, only the states do. There are some basic combos in the game, but nothing like the traditional move lists that we have for other games. From what I've seen Neldakid is doing alright. It would be nice to find some way to construct move tables without the elaborate descriptions so that Power Stone can still have transcluded move pages.
NeldaKid, do you see how we have, for example, Street Fighter II/Moves and Street Fighter II/Characters/Guile? The table of moves for Guile in Street Fighter II is only written once, in Street Fighter II/Guile. We include the contents of the table on both pages. Do you think it's possible to do the same for Power Stone? Procyon 01:55, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Are the modes at least the same between games? Otherwise perhaps these games should just be set up like normal guides? -- Prod (Talk) 02:57, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Image uploads[edit]

Please see our policy on image naming and categorization. In the future, your image names should contain the name of the game or its abbreviation and a one or two word description. All images also need to have the appropriate categories added, as well as the guide-specific image category (i.e. [[Category:Power Stone images]]). --najzereT 23:11, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

I renamed the image and categorized it for you: Image:Power Stone Falcon.jpg, but it will need to be replaced, as it has a watermark. I'll give you a while to replace it before I delete it, but wanted to let you know. If you find a non-watermarked image or just crop off the bottom of his legs, just use the "Upload a new version of this file" link on the image page; there's no need to make a separate upload. — najzereT 23:11, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Please pay close attention to this. All of the images you've recently uploaded have been named incorrectly, and uncategorized. You are creating a lot of work for other admins to correct. If you continue to upload Power Stone images without including the name "Power Stone" in the filename, and if you continue to fail to include [[Category:Power Stone images]] in the file description, you will face a temporary ban from editing on the site. You were warned about this over two years ago, so consider this your last warning. Procyon 15:15, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
I have corrected all of the filenames of the images you recently uploaded. I am leaving it to you to correct the pages where those images appear so that I am sure you understand that file naming policy on this site. If you're not sure what the new file names are, check your contributions page, and the files you uploaded will be listed under their new file names. Procyon 15:29, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks very much. I know the staff appreciates it. Procyon 16:02, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
