Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Shun-Di! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or ask a sysop, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 02:05, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Preload buttons[edit]

The preload buttons.

In order to keep pages on the wiki neat and uniform, we employ certain formatting and templates to help us accomplish this. When creating a new page, please use one of the preload buttons located above the edit text box (e.g. click on "Guide page"), which will insert the needed templates and formatting for you. Thanks for keeping the wiki organized! — Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 02:06, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

You should take NMH Advice to heart and use the preload Buttons when creating new pages, so we don't need to clean up after you. Paco (talk) 09:02, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
Just another reminder for this. Basically, when you go to a red link, please press the "Guide page" button above the editing box. This will automatically add the {{Header Nav}} and {{Footer Nav}} for the page, which is required on all guide pages. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:54, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Monster Rancher monster list[edit]

Sorry, I am just trying to help you organize it better. The primary monster type sections was a good idea, so I moved it to the table of contents for easy navigation. From basic research online, I could not find out many details about each monster, and your lists so far have only shown 1-20 monsters per type. Those will easily fit on the same page with all of their details and images. Making a sub-page for each individual monster is unnecessary at this point and it takes a lot of time to individually manage single pages, so a combined page is the way to go at this point. I'll try not to alter your work as much, but try to stick to the header format for the time being. Even with breeding tactics, statistics, and some strategy info, I think a combined page will still be sufficient. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:23, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

After I posted my rant, I looked around and saw how Dino was tweaked up, so I deleted my rant. After several years, I decided to pick MR1 up again, but had to make a fresh start due to losing all of my data. (Now playing it on my PS3.) Thought I would work on the tourney schedule and ran into several problems, mainly shockwave crashing. Also not knowing how to set up a 12 month chart with 4 columns and 6 rows per month didn't help much. Then there is the match descriptions to add also.--Shun-Di (talk) 20:32, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

We understand that you're new, and that you're just getting started on Monster Rancher. But please trust that when an admin steps in, they're just trying to help you organize the guide information better, not detail your progress. If NMH hadn't stepped in, I might have done so because the pages you started were looking a little sparse, and it seemed like they could be combined. NMH is a very talented editor with years of experience on StrategyWiki, he's very prudent with his edits. Procyon 23:02, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
We really appreciate your interest in this older game and our intent is not to be overbearing, but since you are new it is difficult to have a balance between weaning you into our format and giving you freedom. Eventually you will have to decide on if you like how we do things around here or not. I will try to grab information from other sources where I can. I have never played the game so your insight/revisions are very welcome. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:59, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
It is no problem, I was just frustrated after all I had done and prematurely raged. Once I saw the Dino page, I was satisfied, and shamed. Thank you for you help --Shun-Di (talk) 00:27, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
