The Boos have been terrorized by Tubba Blubba for quite a while, as Tubba's favourite meal are Boos. She agrees to go with Mario, against Bootler's will. Using her stealth skills, she helps Mario sneak into Tubba Blubba's Castle in Gusty Gulch. Upon Tubba's defeat, she gets Mario to let him accompany him for the remainder of the quest. Sushie went after them, but when Mario found her, she was trapped in a tree and needed help. She first joined Mario to find the Yoshi kids. After she heard that Mario was going to the volcano to save a Star Spirit and further to save the world, Sushie decided to help Mario on his quest. Despite living on land, Sushie can swim, and can carry Mario across waters. When the player reaches a wooden dock, Sushie will jump into the water and carry Mario on her back. After Mario first met The Sun, Lakilester challenged him to a fight. After he was beaten and willing to take any penalties, Lakilulu came and asked Mario to forgive her boyfriend. Lakilster realized that he was stupid all this time, working for Huff N. Puff. After hearing the reason Mario fought, Lakilester agreed with Mario and decided to join him, regardless which of the four reasons the player chooses.
