Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Saisen is a fighting game developed by Natsume and published by Bandai Namco Games for the PSP. It was released in Japan on March 10, 2011, to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Rurouni Kenshin anime series which itself first began airing in 1996. Despite its focus on the anime series, Saisen expands its roster by including a manga-exclusive story arc that concluded publication past the anime's run. As such, it is the first game to feature the main antagonist of the final arc of the series, Enishi Yukishiro, brother of Kenshin's deceased first wife, as a playable character. | Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Saisen is a fighting game developed by Natsume and published by Bandai Namco Games for the PSP. Fighting is done with 3D models on a 2D plane. Characters can perform attacks mapped to the face buttons along with special attacks unique to each character, executed through specific button combinations. Each character has a story which is told between fights, detailing the story of Rurouni Kenshin through their perspective. The game's universe is set in the 11th year of Japan's Meiji period, and revolves around former Bakumatsu assassin Kenshin Himura. Displeased with his path of bloodshed, Kenshin picks up the lifestyle of a wandering samurai who fights only in the name of peace and has vowed to stop killing. Shortly afterward, he rescues Kaoru Kamiya, the young instructor of a kendo school, and goes on to form bonds with numerous other allies in his dangerous quest for atonement. | Fighting is done with 3D models on a 2D plane.
