Baiken (梅喧) is one of three boss characters in Guilty Gear (the others being Justice and Testament) and must be unlocked for play. To unlock her, beat the game as either Sol Badguy or Ky Kiske with no continues. After the credits finish rolling, you'll face a secret battle with Baiken.
When Baiken was a child, Gears attacked her hometown, violently slaughtering everyone before her eyes - including her parents. Additionally, her left eye was gouged out and her right arm was severed. After the traumatic experience, the only thing on Baiken's mind was revenge. Wanting nothing more than to bring the Gears and their creator to a bloody end, she trained herself in the use of the katana and dedicated her life to achieving vengeance.
Baiken is no stranger to turtling. She may be tricky to get used to at first, but with the right timing and the continued use of her Tatami attack, stringing combos isn't as tough as it initially seems. Though you can easily opt for an all-offensive button-mashing strategy, Baiken is much more effective when put in a defensive position. This isn't to say that she can't be aggressive with said strategic make-up; Baiken can maintain some strong combos and pressure the opponent nicely while keeping a strong guard. Unfortunately, this strategy also doesn't leave much room for error; mess up the timing and Baiken will end up trapped in the opponent's combo. If you're on a difficulty which is high enough, some opponents may even begin to anticipate your use of the strategy. Practice timing before jumping into battle.
