Recover the Precious Egg![edit]

This game starts off with Cameron finding an egg on the beach. He brings the egg to Prof. Hastings as a gift to becalm the professor's impatience. Prof. Hastings remembers that it looks like a Pokémon egg that he saw from the Sinnoh Region when he was there ordering some Pokémon. This is foreshadowing for the sequel game Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia which has Sinnoh Pokémon in it. Prof. Hastings then says he's going to bring it to Ringtown to see if anyone there knows what can be inside the egg.

Go-Rock stealing the egg from Prof. Hastings

In Lyra Forest, Prof. Hastings bumps into the Go-Rock Squad who want to take the egg to resurrect the squad. Prof. Hastings wonders how they know about the egg and they say that maybe his assistant told them. He then tries to fend them off and fails so they take the egg from him. They say it will lead them to the Sea Crown.

Prof. Hastings then reports to the Ringtown Ranger Base and Spenser asks you if you know what the egg might be. Clicking yes will reveal it to be a Manaphy egg! Prof. Hastings remembers that Manaphy is the key to finding the Sea Temple which is invisible underwater and in the Sea Temple is the Sea Crown. There is a legend saying that bearer of the Sea Crown will become the world's king and that's why the Go-Rock Squad is seeking it. Prof. Hastings and Spenser put you in charge of the mission to recover the egg from the Go-Rock Squad and assigns Solana/Lunick to help you.

Starting Recover the Precious Egg!

Head out of the base and the game will cut out and return with you in Lyra Forest to start the mission. Head up and capture the Torchic to the left as you might need its Poké Assist later on. Also grab the Politoed as you need its 3x Soak in a few seconds.

Strange rocks to use Politoed on

After you catch both Pokémon, go up and you will see strange rocks blocking your path. Go ahead and use Politoed on one of them. 3 rocks are revealed to be Gravelers and a Go-Rock grunt appears then she attacks you with the 3 Gravelers

Capture the Gravelers one by one when they are isolated from the group otherwise this will be a difficult capture.

Once the grunt is defeated then continue going up towards Krokka Tunnel. You will encounter the 3 Go-Rock Squad members who say the must reach Fall City through Krokka Tunnel but they don't know which path to take. One of them says she planted mushrooms on the right path to help them and they spot one of the mushrooms to take the upward path. Before the move, they spot you and say that the egg is with its rightful owners as the assistant said it would be foolish for the Manaphy to first see Prof. Hastings as it would think the professor is it's mother. The commander and one grunt move forward while one grunt stays behind. This grunt says that the Sea Crown will make their boss the king and ruler of the world. She then attacks you with 4 Rattata.

The Rattata are super easy to capture. Once the grunt is defeated, she will follow the other 2 members as you should as well. Continuing on the path you will bump into the commander again who looks for the mushroom and continues walking once it's found. Continue following and you will confront a grunt with 4 Zubats.

Zubat is another easy capture. When the grunt is defeated look nearby to capture a Swellow as you need its field move later.

Try to capture the 2 Rattata at the same time then capture the Meowth. Once the grunt is defeated continue going on the follow until you see the grunt and commander trying to figure out which way to go again. The continue to Krokka Tunnel as they see the mushroom which is actually a Parasect. Use Swellow on the Parasect to make it move then continue following them and you will run into a grunt with a Scyther.

Loop Scyther as quickly as you can. Once the grunt is defeated, continue following them and they will be right in front of Krokka Tunnel trying to find there way again. As they are looking, a Parasect moves which makes them go back into Lyra Forest. Continue following them in the circle that they are going in and you will find another grunt with a Politoed and 3 Zubat.

Either capture all 3 Zubat together or one by one before going for Politoed. Once the grunt is defeated, continue following the commander and you will run into the last grunt battle with 3 Rattata.

After you defeat the grunt continue forward and you will see the commander again. The commander is now mad as they aren't in Fall City yet. The grunt says it's just ahead as her mushroom is right there.

Confusing Go-Rock by moving their mushroom

This is the mushroom that you moved with Swellow which in turn makes them go in the wrong direction. They walk into the tall grass which leads to a dead end and you corner them. The commander then says he is going to be the next Go-Rock Squad boss as well as the ruler of Fiore. They then attack you with 2 Scyther and a Venusaur.

This can be a very difficult capture as the Scyther are quick and Venusaur summons thorn vines which limits your looping area. Try to single out the Scyther and capture them one by one then go after Venusaur. If you are having trouble then use Torchic at a convenient to cause fire and startle the Pokémon.

Once the commander is defeated, he will flee without giving the egg back. Turn around and walk out and as soon as you get out of the tall grass, you bump into Gordor!

Gordor stopping the commander and returning the egg

Gordor says that the egg holds life and it should be in the hands of the commander. He forces the commander to give the egg back. He then admits that after you defeated him, he woke up from his nightmare and decided to atone for his misdeeds for which he thanks you for. You then bring the egg back to the Ranger Base. You report that Gordor helped you retrieve the egg and Prof. Hastings thanks you for changing Gordor to be a better guy. After this the mission is completed.

Clearing Recover the Precious Egg!

Mission Clear!

Murph talks about his mission and said that he discovered listening device in a book while he was helping Prof. Hastings assistant. Murph then says the device had a Go-Rock logo on it meaning that they were listening to everything be said in the lab. Prof. Hastings then admits that his assistant wasn't a spy after all and he will be giving a gift to her. Solana/Lunick then asks if the egg is going to be the gift and he says no as their has been no reports of egg-hatching in all of fiore. After some brainstorming, the professor says that a trainer from the Sinnoh region should hold onto it which means the egg can be transferred to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Platinum

How to transfer the egg[edit]

If you are looking on how to get the Manaphy egg transferred to Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and Pokémon Platinum then head to Manaphy.
