Advanced Techniques

  • Any directional button and Arcade-Button-SSlash.png when standing close to the opponent initiates a throw.
  • Air combos are a large part of Guilty Gear. To perform them, you must first perform a launcher attack. Press Arcade-Button-LSlash.png and Arcade-Button-SSlash.png to execute a launcher attack and begin an air combo.
  • Perform any fighter's charge (with the exception of Testament and Justice) to fill up the Tension gauge. Depending on the level of the Tension gauge, that fighter's attacks become more powerful.
  • Chaos Attacks are attacks which can be performed in Chaos Mode. Fighters automatically enter Chaos Mode when their health reaches the half-way point (when their green health bar is fully-depleted). The fighter is then surrounded by a red aura and has the ability to perform an unlimited amount of Chaos Attacks.
  • There is a way to instantly kill your opponent. These are called Destroy attacks. Initiate one by pressing Arcade-Button-Punch.png and Arcade-Button-Kick.png when your fighter is close to the opponent. The screen will turn red. Press Arcade-Stick-Qcf.png + Arcade-Button-Punch.png + Arcade-Button-Kick.png and your fighter will perform their special instant kill. Press Arcade-Stick-Qcb.png + Arcade-Button-Punch.png + Arcade-Button-Kick.png when the opponent tries to perform their own Destroy attack to counter.
