Half-Life 2: Deathmatch is the multiplayer companion of Half-Life 2. It is generally bundled with other games, although it can be bought separately on Steam. Its gameplay involves the use of physics weapons (the gravity gun) as well as conventional weapons, and the game specifically caters for player deaths due to having physics props thrown at them. There are only two game modes available: deathmatch and team deathmatch, each taking place in various maps based in or on the areas in Half-Life 2, and featuring all the same incidental characters and weapons.
