You can customize Zero's abilities by equipping Chips to his head, body, and feet. You can have one Head Chip, one Body Chip, and one Foot Chip equipped at a time. Some Chips are obtained from defeating bosses, others are hidden in the stages.

Head Chips

Auto-Recover

This slowly refills Zero's HP while he is standing still. However, it doesn't refill his Sub Tanks.

Auto-Charge

This makes both of Zero's weapons charge automatically, so you don't need to hold the buttons.

Quick-Charge

This makes Zero's weapons charge faster.

Body Chips

Light

  • Obtained from: Deathtanz Mantisk

Allows Zero to stand on unstable platforms without making them collapse.

Absorber

  • Obtained from: Tretista Kelverian

With this equipped, Zero doesn't get pushed back when he takes a hit.

Flame

  • Obtained from: Blazin’ Flizard

Heats up your charged attacks, allowing them to burn enemies.

Ice

  • Obtained from: Childre Inarabitta

Supercools your charged attacks, allowing them to freeze enemies.

Thunder

  • Obtained from: Devilbat Schilt

Makes your charged attacks electrified, allowing them to stun enemies.

Foot Chips

Splash Jump

This enables Zero to jump across the surface of water.

Double Jump

  • Obtained from: Cubit Foxtar

This enables Zero to jump a second time while in midair.

Shadow Dash

This enables Zero to dash through enemies.

Quick

  • Obtained from: Copy X

This makes Zero run faster.

Spike

  • Obtained from: Glacier Le Cactank

This enables Zero to walk on ice without slipping.

Frog

This makes Zero slide down walls more slowly.

Ultima

  • Obtained from: Phantom

This gives Zero all the abilities of all the other Foot Chips at the same time.
