Rollbackers on StrategyWiki should use common sense as to when recent edits to a page need to be rolled back. If the rollback might be disputed (since it is impossible to change the automatic summary), consider either using the normal "Undo" mechanism for reverting the change(s), or leave a message on the talk page of the user who you reverted explaining why. This is a very small percentage of reverts, however, so just use common sense and you'll be fine.

Unlike adminship, getting rollback permissions is much less formal of a process. Simply copy/paste the code below into the "Current requests" section. A StrategyWiki bureaucrat will then review your request and decide, at their own discretion, whether to grant the permissions or not. If you are a trusted StrategyWiki user who has been around for a while and has demonstrated an initiative to revert vandalism, your request will probably be successful.

I remember seeing a couple occasions of vandalism before, and it would be great if I could rollback those edits myself before reporting the vandal. Also, I make a fair number of edits (although not as much anymore since school's started again), so I guess the autopatrol would be useful to the admins out there. Vizeroth has shown a propensity for and good judgement of reverting vandals' edits. This would be a useful tool for him/her. naj<font color="green">zere</font> 10:23, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

::I accept the nomination with thanks. It would have been nice to have had it on a few occasions when someone had made multiple small edits just to insert garbage into multiple parts of the page (like one last night in which I eventually just combined an undo and an edit). Of course, it's up to you guys, and I'm well aware that rollbacks are a tool that can do as much damage as good. --~<font color="red">Viz</font><font color="black">eroth</font> (<font color="black">contr</font><font color="red">ibs</font>)~-- 21:38, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Ok, so I don't have enough experience to be an admin. But I came across this page and from the looks of it I might just fit the bill. I have come across the odd load-of-vandalism bits, and then you just need to do it the old way of editing it and taking all the stuff they put in out. Rollback seems much easier. And the autopatrol would probably make life easier for all those admins out there. But it's not up to me, I guess, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed. ----<font color="red">Me</font><font color="green">lon</font><font color="orange">2</font><font color="purple">4</font><font color="blue">7</font> 19:43, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Rollbackers on StrategyWiki are trusted users with the ability to quickly revert consecutive edits to a page by a single user. Such actions are visible in recent changes with an edit summary of "Reverted edits by ExampleUser2 (talk) to last revision by ExampleUser1". This edit summary is generated automatically and cannot be changed. There is no confirmation once the rollback link is clicked, the reversion takes effect immediately.

An automated listing of all current rollbackers may be found here.

Rollback policy[edit]

Rollbackers on StrategyWiki should use common sense when rolling back recent edits to a page. If the rollback might be disputed (since it is impossible to change the automatic summary), consider either using the normal "Undo" mechanism for reverting the change(s), or leave a message on the talk page of the user who you reverted, explaining why you did so. This is a very small percentage of reverts, however, so just use common sense and you'll be fine.

Abuse of the rollback tool will result in revocation of rollback permissions.

Requesting rollback permissions[edit]

Unlike adminship and bureaucratship, getting rollback permissions is a much less formal process. Simply copy/paste the template below in the Rollbackers section of the current requests page. A StrategyWiki bureaucrat will then review your request and decide, at their own discretion, whether to grant the permissions or not. If you are a trusted StrategyWiki user who has been around for a while and has demonstrated an initiative to revert vandalism, your request will probably be successful.
