Comittees[edit]
When and how will these be started and organized? I suggest sooner, and with Project pages: StrategyWiki:New User Committee, etcetera. The project pages can list the members, current goals, and satisfied goals. The talk page can be discussion. It's simple and straight forward. - How about now? :P. Anyway, if you want a committee that you are on to have a page, I suggest that you create it yourself. I'm currently working on the layout for mine, but the sooner it is up, the more time people have to be aware about it. --

Some thoughts...[edit]
First off, I accept the position of chairman of the look and feel committee, or whatever. Can I get the title of chief lizard wrangler? :-P Regarding surveying new users, I believe this could easily be achieved by a little highlighted section (in a green box?) at the bottom of {{welcome}}, asking users to add a section to a StrategyWiki:Poll page, or something. Regarding the moneys, I think it would be a bad move to go for-profit; we would gain a lot of negative karma (profiting off other people's hard work), and I don't think we could make enough money at this point for it to be even remotely viable as a source of income for anyone. - People are more willing to help a non-profit for nothing in return. Since our content is user generated the idea of someone profiting from it would scare away a lot of new contributors. Doing free work to help others is more appealing than doing free work so someone else can profit. Also, as an opinion from a random consumer: for profit companies that have no clear product/service they sell look shifty. With the GFDL issue in the forums making it optional sounds like it would be best. A checkbox either in user preferences or somewhere on the screen where the user writes the post would be easy to use. This could make it easier to randomly choose if a post will be under GFDL. I can see wanting to flag one of my posts as not GFDL if quoting someone or talking about something that I have doubts about being accurate/correct. The forums sound like a great way to solve the problem from a user coming to SW for help and finding what they need is a stub and leaving. Perhaps the stub blurb could lead to a forum page where the person can explain their problem and get help that way. --Zaiqukaj 07:21, 2 December 2007 (CST)
