I REALLY think it would be worthwhile to merge this cover page with the TOC.  This is how I think it should look.  If it's moved the intro and TOC red links will work.  Since this is the "feature guide" it should be the most easy to navigate, and with a cover page, it simply isn't.  Tell me what you think. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 14:40, 23 May 2006 (PDT)

What happened to Template:Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time_Nav? I saw that it was replaced with Template:Zelda:_OOT_walkthrough_nav. Personally, I think having nav links in the main body makes the links more inaccessible and the article seem more jumbled, but perhaps that's just me. I think we should have more discourse on this matter. What are the pros/cons of each method? :Well, Template:Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time_Nav was on every page of the walkthrough which was to be honest incredibly ugly looking and very jumbled.  compare the one with the ZOotNav to the one with the walkthrough nav I created.  The edit (your edit) that added the other template said "new sidebar navigation" but all I see when I look at it is a massive bulleted/numbered list above what is useful information.  If it is meant to provide a well designed sidebar nav then that's great but it is not what I see and probably not what most users would see (using up to date Firefox).  So I created that walkthrough nav.  I'm not sure how your sidebar nav was supposed to work but I don't see how having an organized and yet condensed nav providing all the links a person looking for a walkthrough would need is jumbled.  I based the concept off of the FF7 guide at IGN (you might need insider to view it).  It's very easy to navigate and looks very nice. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 19:08, 29 May 2006 (PDT)

::Wait, are you using Monobook or something? ::: Well that's cool, I like that, it just didn't show up anywhere for me because I am using monobook.  Couldn't you edit the common.css as it is edited on wikipedia, or does it need js too? I realize blue cloud is the default, but the majority of wiki users are most familiar with monobook (since it is the default on wikipedia), and implementing something that looks horrible on monobook just because it looks good on the default here doesn't seem like a good option, you know?  Until it can be worked out to work on most skins (if not all), I think an alternative would be better, don't you?  Not like we'll delete the other zelda nav, but use something compatible with all until we get something better that's compatible with all. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 12:08, 30 May 2006 (PDT)

::::The only skin I can change from MediaWiki: pages at the moment is BlueCloud. I guess using a more compatible template in the meantime makes sense. == Sidequests ==
Should they be included in with the main guide or at the end of each section.  Check out this diff. -- Prod (Talk) 21:39, 21 November 2006 (CST)
:I'd say both. It's great to know about a sidequest item at the very point when you can find or use it, and it's also good to be able to review sidequests before you leave the area (or are just revisiting for that purpose). GarrettTalk 15:00, 22 November 2006 (CST)
::If sidequests, and only sidequests are put in the sideboxes then that would satisfy both purposes, without duplicating information. -- Prod (Talk) 15:27, 22 November 2006 (CST)
Glass Containers
I notice that the glass bottles don't seem to have been given much consideration. They're not listed at all on the equipment list, nor is there a special marker to indicate that a certain sidequest allows you to obtain it. --RubyDragon 19:47, 22 June 2007 (CDT)
:Then add them in. You don't need anyone's permission to do so. I'd actually give them their own page though, so put them here. -- 19:50, 22 June 2007 (CDT)
Rupee Information
From a brief look at the ToC and items page, I see no information related to rupees (occurrences and values).  -- 04:00, 10 June 2008 (CDT)

Since it's now the guide that needs editing, I've also own a game guide made from Prima. It's now stage 3 and I just want to know what else this guide needs because it already has everything and there's a few pages that's not needed at all. Mainly graphical upgrades. Nevetheless, this should be an easy job for me. If you know what it needs, put it in or add your ideas here and I'll see what I can do. Johnnyauau2000 03:33, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
:One of the suggested changes is reducing the excessive amount of images on several pages (e.g. The Beginning). The galleries especially should be able to be replaced with paragraph text and a picture or two at the side. --Garrett (talk) 03:44, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
:Update: I have split the previously colossal Items page into Equipment, Items and Upgrades and redesigned their layout. I have fixed all current links, but new links will now need to point to the appropriate page. They are also currently missing section links. --Garrett (talk) 04:50, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
::Even though it's done well with the exception of the Master Quest, my only question whether it's up to date or not. I'm sure you play the game a thousand times and have a hard time how to solve a puzzle. You should see if anything else is left out if you're not fatigued at the moment. Johnnyauau2000
:::It's been years since I played Ocarina of Time, so I can't really help in that regard, sorry. :( --Garrett (talk) 23:33, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
::::My apologies for the ridiculous image uploads. I personally think that an image should point out something easily missed in a dungeon, or show a tactic toward a miniboss/boss. I'm not uploading any more images since they're too object to criticism and I've been chewed out for that. If you can set a cap on the images, I'll delete the "junkpile." Right now, can anyone give suggestions on that gap of instruction in Gerudo's Fortress?--|<font color="Silver">Superpowered</font> <span style="color:#000090">Mario</span> 19:18, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Lost Woods page between Hyrule Castle and Kakariko Village pages on TOC?
I'm pretty sure the guide is laid out this way as to give the player the shortcut from Goron City to Lost Woods to get Saria's Song, but it seems pretty awkward to have the reader essentially have to jump forward a page, read it, then go back a page to use an "item" they got on that later page on Goron City's old version.
Having the Lost Woods page immediately after Hyrule Castle in the Table of Contents would have you get Saria's Song, then lead you to doing Kakariko stuff, then lead you into Goron City where you use Saria's Song, so the reader could continue through the guide linearly. You won't have use of the shortcut, but readers who realize they can take advantage of the save warp mechanic can do so, and the changes I've made to the Hyrule Castle sidequests means a reader is more likely to be exploring around Hyrule a bit anyway to get the couple of Gold Skulltulas and Pieces of Heart mentioned there if they are going for 100% completion. (I'll also admit I got this idea from looking through the Nintendo official guide trying to make sure the text mentioning "Link" rather than the reader weren't copied from there)
I've already edited The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Goron City to not tell the player about the section of the guide they wouldn't have read yet, but obviously that note can come back and replace my change once again if there is a good reason not to do this.
