Template:Infobox Thomas the Tank Engine 2 also titled Thomas's Big Race is an action videogame, developed by PeakStar Software for Alternative Software, and released for the Commodore Amiga, Atari ST and MS-DOS in 1993; as the name suggests, it is the follow-up to Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, which had been released three years earlier on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64 but only in the previous year on the Amiga, Atari ST and DOS. As in the original game, Gordon and James are again missing their tenders (and numbers as a result) - and Bill and Ben also again look identical to each other (for they are missing their nameplates).

Story

"I'm a Really Useful
Engine," said Thomas
as he pulled into the
sheds that morning.
"Oh yes," puffed
Gordon. But I bet
you're not as fast as
me!"
The others overheard and laughed...
"Please stop arguing,"
the Fat Controller
butted in.
Everyone went quiet...
"I know," continued
the Fat Controller,
"We'll soon find out
who's the fastest
of you all!"
"I will hold a racing
competition and keep
the times with my
pocket watch."
"Then we'll know
who's the best..."
Everybody cheered
loudly and began
revving their engines
in readiness for the
races...
